Hard landings are not unknown - but this was a hard take-off.

The Aviation Herald hasn't got this yet. How on earth can you hit a wall and not know about it?

Only flew with them once Delhi to Agra. Terrible. The Air attache was with me and had sent his driver there to take the two of us to the hotel. We went back by road. That was almost as bad.

I'm guessing that the undercarriage hit the wall, but you do have to question the lack of aviating skill that lets that happen, and the lack of awareness that let it go unobserved.

I guess they must have gone through the LLZ antennae to get to the wall.

It is literally incredible that they did not know that they'd hit something. They must also have noticed a significant lack of power during the takeoff roll too.

With the gumment trying to flog off the national airline, I don't suppose there'll be much of an investigation.

If you look at the picture you will see it was not just 'the undercarriage'. There is a bleeding great 'ole in the back! Speaks well for Boeing.

Bet they asked the rear crew to lift their feet off the floor just in case.....

hit the boundary wall of Tiruchirappalli International Airport on 12 October at 01:18 local time.
it landed in Mumbai at 05:39 local time.
Even allowing for different time zones, it must have been airborn for 'some time' - at what altitude did they fly?
Was the fuselage pressurised?

That's not going to buff out, is it. Probably needs more than duct tape to fix, too.

Although I do wonder if it was just the wheels that hit the wall and that was caused by a pole of some sort.

I thought the 'official' stuff on the flight path was supposed to be frangible and fall apart before doing anything like that. Although given that the wall wasn't that high, it could have been something that wasn't ever expected to get near an aircraft because it was behind the wall.

Here is an image from the other side of the wall methinks and the damage to the Loc Antenna can be seen. Gave that a right twating using technical language.
Must have used the full length +.
He can't have been that much overweight it is only a 4 hour sector to DXB. if there was only 130 pax then that is somewhere around 50 short of a full load. Curious.

An Air India flight attendant has been injured after falling from the door of a parked aeroplane at India's Mumbai airport.
Harsha Lobo was preparing the flight for boarding to Delhi on Monday morning when the incident happen.
Ms Lobo, 52, suffered a fracture and other injuries and has been taken to a hospital.
Air India, the country's national carrier, said in a statement that it was investigating the incident.
"In an unfortunate incident, one of our cabin crew (members), Harsha Lobo, fell down on the tarmac from the Boeing-777 aircraft door while closing it," the airline said.
Doctors attended to Ms Lobo at the Mumbai airport before sending her to the hospital.
At least they noticed this time :-o
