KZR1388 declared 7700 and apparent loss of control, landed safely

An Embraer 190 of Air Astana carrying 6 crew, 0 pax, declared an emergency over Portugal and according to trackers followed a very erratic flight path indicating loss of control after departure from Alverca (PT) to Minsk.

Landed safely at a military airfield in Portugal after what must have been some very scary moments.

Reading some other reports mostly in the Portuguese media, it seems that this was a very dangerous situation with a happy ending thanks to excellent cooperation between the PT ATC, Air Force, and the pilots. There was talk of a ditching into the sea.

The aircraft had been on the ground for 6 weeks for maintenance and was on its way back to Kazakhstan via Minsk.

The most dangerous aircraft to fly is one that has just come out of maintenance Apologies to my Flt. Eng. friends, but then the're a different breed! ( bring back the F/Eng )

Definitely a "pass me my brown trousers, Carruthers" day. :)) A great bit of flying.

The thread on TOP has a photo of the flight controls page on the MFD, clearly showing crossed ailerons.
Roll spoilers working in the proper sense.
Now, if this is indeed a pic of the jet in question, I still don't see how this explains everything, including much climbin n' divin'.
Also, surely the ailerons have been de-murphied on a modern jet like this one????

Clearly not?
