Hydraulic problems on take off. Ran over and connected the fence on the return landing

The Fly Jamaica plane, bound for Toronto, suffered a hydraulic problem ten minutes after taking off from Georgetown airport at 2.10am and had to turn back.

But while coming into land it overshot the runway, went through a fence and ended up in a large pile of sand, tearing one of its wings and an engine off in the process.

Surely, with multiple redundancy, the hydraulic issues wouldn't have caused braking issues. More likely that a hurried return and approach doomed these folks to an overrun but what the hell do I know about this incident?

Calling all 757 gurus. Boac, Slasher?

Given the kind of damage they are writing about there I wouldn't be surpised if it is a hull write off.
