I never flew the 737 officially, it was always called the FLUF which stood for Fat Little Ugly F---r which was my feelings about it.
How does one get to fly a blinkin' 737
unofficially?
Agree with the 737-100/200 being FLUFs (I flew the 200) but the 400 and 800 didn't look that bad. The 800 was like the 400 but with the annoying bugs taken out e.g. AC gennys powering direct to the xfer busses and not the main busses 1 and 2.
The 500 was short and fat!
Air Austral used them Joburg - Reunion.

Yes the 500 was. It was a bit of a waffling bastard too when the YD was U/S.

Sitting in the Eng's seat in a 707 flying the Berlin Corridor was the ultimate in fun and excitement. All the rest are just plain boring.

Anyone see Boeing's 737MAX press conference today, reported on ITV news this evening ? An example of how not to manage their situation.

WSJ now claiming that the Max development pilots at Boeing were not given full details of the MCAS system. Gets better, don't it?

It rather looks as if the moderators at Pprune have thrown their toys out of the pram because some of the children weren't playing nicely. Threads related to the Boeing 737 Max have been closed.
Wanking Wobby must be in his element.

"Angels dancing on the head of too small a pin" is the official O P explanation for thread closure.
Perhaps pinhead(s) is an appropriate description of their moderator team?

Haven't heard anything about the re-certification of the 737 Max lately. What are the current estimates as to when? Having that number of new aircraft grounded must be costing Boeing a fortune. Expect them to be filing for a chapter 11 any day.

I am not sure Uncle Sam (I have not used the expression a long time) would hate to have only Lockheed Martin as the only supplier for aviation related equipment. Unless they turn to Sukhoi or Dassault and the French are not exactly cheap. Hence a chapter 11 would be avoided.
However you are right it seems a long time since the type was grounded.

'Late summer' is one rumour. Not sure which year, though.
One of the big things that would bother me is with MCAS 'failure' there does not appear to be any requirement to land at the nearest etc etc. Since the aircraft could not be certified without it..................

The one in the middle just got authorisation for push-back.
