Unfortunately it will be a write off as no spare parts would be available or not?

I've read that it seems to happen mainly on passenger 747's that are converted to freighters. They use a tail prop to stop it happening.

Every freighter I've ever dealt with uses a tail steady, the DC-8 and 737 ones are pretty difficult if you don't get it first time. They is heavy.

We had a VC10 XR 806 do that at Brize. They were shifting fuel around during servicing and probably had too much in the tail and little in the mains.
