On Sunday 31st March, the co owner of S7 airlines was killed along with her father and the pilot at Egelsbach EDFE.
The BBC called it a private jet... No...
I have flown her in the past. I found her a lovely and enthusiastic lady. Her friends were just as pleasant. She was so happy to have a female pilot.
Why she was flying privately (as opposed to with an AOC etc) is beyond me.
For those who don't know, Egelsbach is a tiny GA airport just south of Frankfurt am Main. EDDF. The westerly approach isn't too bad but the easterly approach to 08 is a nightmare. Confined airspace, powerlines, short narrow runway all add to a high risk of being unstable/too fast/too high. I've done the sim training, I hated it.

Tell me more - never heard of S7. Yes, EDFE can be tricky. Are you with NetJets?

Re: S7 co-owner killed in aeroplane crash
I spent many weekends at Egelsbach drinking beer and watching traffic. Very busy, more movements than FFaM most weeks back in the 1980s. Heavy police chopper presence back then.

S7 was formally known as Siberian Airlines. Not a bad company to fly on. Usual caveats of course. They had really turned it around.
Yes, I'm with NetJets Europe.
