Nope. “Arrests have been made”. So the poor buggers that did what they were trained and ordered to do will end up swinging from a noose at the end of a crane in a public spectacle. The real guilty parties will get off scot free - unless there’s a revolution and they have a date with the cranes.

The Iranians, as some have noted here, are a civilized, cultured people as I discovered when I met with some of their naval personnel before the Shah was ousted. The Iranian people deserve so much better than than the ideologues and the fanaticism of some of the awful people in power there. The grotesque hysteria that resulted in over 50 deaths at the funeral of Soleimani and the ongoing use of live rounds on protesters says an awful lot about the current regime.

Not sure this connects with protests.

No, as you imply, the two sides of the Iranian coin. The protesters that are being shot are generally anti-regime and are being shot by the regime's security police while the nincompoops rending their clothes, self flagellating and wailing and crushing are pro-regime fanatics.

Maybe the authorities will slap a notice on the door and use the area surrounding it as a tug park?

And then perform a thorough and interminable ramp check on ‘frame and crew.

One thing that is being ignored is the stratification of Iranian society. Yes, what could be called the upper level are indeed cultured and pleasant but there is also a lower level that the upper level disdains. I have seen this in action, a very pleasant university educated Iranian in charge of a crew that he insulted and derided in private with me since I was in his eyes on his social level. Strangely the crew he was insulting were Americans and the events occurred in the US. I suspect the protesters are the young, educated, elite and the mourners who were killed are from the lower level who tend to be more strongly religious.

It appears that they’ve even arrested to poor bugger who took the video! Proof, if needed, that the regime didn’t want to be embarrassed and would have continued to lie if they thought they could have got away with it.

Dude it is true as you say, but sadly it would be pretty much the same anywhere in this dark world and wide (even in Australia mate)...!

That presumably is based on the old one of "if a tree falls in the woods and there's no one around..."

Iran now 'asking' for equipment to help them decode the recorders!!! :-o

I also hear Iran now 'officially' confirms 2 missiles were fired.

But apparently didn’t necessarily contribute to the crash!

Firing the missiles of course did not contribute to the a/c crashing.

It was the explosion of the missiles on contact with, or in proximity of, the a/c that caused the crash!

Perhaps it was the crew's fault for not "seeing and avoiding" said missiles.

AvHerald have a copy of the final report. The first 139 pages are in some sort of Arabic. The English starts at p140.
