I remember seeing worse bulges folds bumps and ripples under a B-52's armpits while on the ground. Did they straighten out in flight with the wings under load ?

I would think so. There has to be more damage than the obvious. Fuselage probably twisted.TheGreenGoblin wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2020 5:46 amOne assumes that the Gulfstream will be a write off, fit for spares only?

“seriously damaged”? Why the mealy mouthed wording? I would have thought “almost completely severed” would be a more suitable description of the tech log entry?
Marie Antoinette had a graceful neck which was also “seriously damaged” by a bladed article in public!

Should have been on the "I bent it thread.". Bulgy armpits on B-52.

A bit if judicious thrust lever juggling might keep the bizjet more or less flying straight.
Pitch control probably a deciding factor in the go-nogo decision.

The drag would be the problem?

Both threads are dealing with the issue in many ways, bad taxiing and parking aside.
The B-52 had a tendency to shed its vertical stabilizer in the early days of its operation. Go easy on the rudders china!
