A vice-president at Amazon has quit "in dismay" at the internet giant's crackdown on workers who criticised it over coronavirus safety measures.

Tim Bray described the firing of protesters as "evidence of a vein of toxicity running through the company culture".

I wonder out of which manager’s budget that lot will be deducted? Maybe there’s a vacant managerial position now!

Apart from being kippered in organo-phosphate fumes in flight decks for most of my entire 26 year civilian service I was also marinated in the cockpit automatic fire extinguishant in the Bae146 simulator in 1987 when it was at Hatfield.

Hence my posting name, no further clarification needed. :YMPARTY:

Ah hah! A mind that has been sharpened by the effects of a bromotrifluoromethane breathe in. @-)

TGG, may I express my total admiration for your spelling of the chemist’s name for the white vapour cloud which enveloped me and colleague towards the end of our torture session in that sim.
I would have had to do a web search for that word but I’m sure you whipped it outa your RAM brain cells in a trice.
P S. Was it BCF in those sim cockpit extinguishers or something more/less exotic? :-\

It was chloro back in the day, far more poisonous than the meek and mild flouro used these days... :-bd

I had to learn to spell these chemicals while specifying data centres back in the day and then later having the rather "invigorating" experience of having had my right hand seat man discharge a Halon 1211, BromoChlorodiFluoromethane extinguisher in the general area of my crotch while I attempted to keep my legs, and gonads away from the burning avionics loom in front of me while continuing to fly G-OOGA the Cougar. I can tell you that had it not been for him being there that day I may have not been able to have reproduced later due to having been killed by death or, at the very least, having had my balls burned off. A memorable day!

G-OOGA was not a lucky aircraft having been written off in a take off accident in 2012.
