AeroSuperBatics plane crashes into Poole Harbour

#1 Post by TheGreenGoblin » Sun Sep 05, 2021 2:46 am

A wing walker and pilot were lucky to survive with minor injuries when their aircraft ditched in Poole habour during a display as part of the Bournemouth Air festival.

The B Street press have been at their very worst on this, with plunging aircraft piloted by hero pilots, landing in marinas with "100's of boats bunched together" and screaming survivors and, the funniest, one dim witted journalist even wittering on about attempts to retrieve the "black box" (I kid you not).

The young lady does sound very distressed it is fair to say (and who can blame her).

AeroSuperBatics...
A young female wingwalker is understood to have been strapped atop the plane when it landed in the water before flipping upside down - with both the pilot and acrobat left suspended underwater.

In dramatic footage shared online, the woman and pilot desperately scream for help as they float in the water next to their rapidly sinking aircraft.

One man watching the chaos unfold heaped praise on the 'hero' pilot, who was searching for a suitable landing spot along the coastline after suffering engine failure, eventually opting for a marina with hundreds of boats bunched together.

There is a continuous line of young ladies queueing up to take a wing walk at the outfit opposite my heli school at Headcorn. Perhaps the line will be a little shorter now.

Our station commander was persuaded to wing walk at our airshow. There was a long line of aircrew hiding in case someone pushed them forward.

From the Mail link above:
Two passengers received treatment for injuries after plane 'crashes into sea'
Shocked eyewitnesses admitted it was a 'miracle' no-one was seriously hurt
Wing-walking stunt had been taking part in annual Bournemouth Air Festival
But all flights are currently suspended in area following the shocking incident
That would explain the crash - no pilot

My thoughts exactly.
