A De Havilland Canada DHC-1 Chipmunk (LV-NRY) struck an antennae almost ripping off the wing sending debris into the crowd watching the aircraft display. The pilot was not injured on November 5, 2022 at Bragado Airfield, Buenos Aires in Argentina.

Chipmunk hits antenna!
This chap came close to losing a wing.
My necessaries are embark'd: farewell. Adieu! I have too grieved a heart to take a tedious leave.

Lucky escape. Lucky a few rivets and I guess the spar held.
Re: Chipmunk hits antenna!
An aerial accident?
Re: Chipmunk hits antenna!
Seems like someone put an antenna too close to an airport or vice versa.

Re: Chipmunk hits antenna!
Or the Chipmunk was allowed into close proximity of someone alleging to be a “pilot”?!

Re: Chipmunk hits antenna!
One day a long time ago, I was the range control officer at Rashid Range near Dubai (where all the glitzy hotels are today) when the last Hunter rip-***** pilot of the day decided to "give the lads a bit of excitement" before he set off back to Sharjah. He put the wing tip round the back of the quadrant hut (30-ish ft high) at warp factor snot. Unknown to him there was a simple HFSSB aerial(wire) out to a stick in the sand about 100ft away. he lost about 3ft off the wing and wobbled away to a bit more height and headed for Sharjah. Didn't make it, lost control and ejected into the warm waters of the Gulf where he was duly fished out by the 72Sqn Wessex. On the a/c back to Bahrain the next morning on the way to UK - I often wonder what happened to him later. Did he become an Air Vice Admiral? Would have if he'd been in the Andrew.
