Tiger Moth Down SEQ

#1 Post by Fliegenmong » Wed Dec 30, 2015 7:33 am

Here's a rather upsetting one....an accident more than an incident......Daughter bought the Joy Flight that became the crash that claimed her Fathers life as She watched...

I first heard of this one not far from here, and my first thought was Oh God, please don't let that one be a Christmas present....turns out it was...... :(

Must say that I found the intrusive nature (photos of grieving relatives etc.) in that press link completely unacceptable. Real gutter journalism. Not good!

The Tiger Moth is tremendously fun to fly but will bite in the slipping/close to the stall regime. It this was a case of EFATO then one can only sympathise with the young pilot whose options may have been very limited. One hopes he will make a full recovery. As for the scuttlebutt but in the comments they should be discounted pending the crash investigation report.
