I do wish the press would stop referring to maneuvers as 'stunts'.

I see from that link that he had performed at Shoreham several time and the evidence is citing the Stop order at Southport the previous year.
I wonder if they will bring forward evidence from his pre displays at Shoreham. Videos of previous years could be relevant.

Re: Shoreham Air Show Plane Crash
Not really into court cases. Does the prosecution have the first bash? Cos so far it has all been against Andy apart from a paramedic saying that when he got him out of the ditch he said that he had blacked out.
I have said it before and say it again, this is all a complete waste of time and money. If they chuck him inside it will be an hotel open prison at the tax payers expense. And, what will it achieve. There have already been changes to display procedure which are so ridiculous you need a telescope to see the aircraft operating about 100 miles away over the nearest ocean. It was terrific when aircraft came screaming over the top of the crowd line.
I have done some extremely low fly pasts over crowds in the BN2T at the end of a para dropping day. On one occasion it was a good job they all ducked. On another one apparently all the girls did a mooney at me but I was concentrating so hard on not touching the ground I missed it and they refused to repeat it when I got out of the aircrsaft
The chief pilot tried to bollock me once for my famed fly pasts. Tricky really as he was junior to me in rank.

- I don't think so. There is no suggestion that he violated any restrictions other than minimum height - possibly at entry and obviously at 'exit'. What would be more relevant is some record (which will probably not exist) of height and speed at the top on previous occasions.PN wrote:Videos of previous years could be relevant.
I'm afraid from my p.o.v. the defence suggestion he 'blacked out' during the pull-out is:
a) Irrelevant - the 'damage' was probably done at the top
b) Not supported by the video which show conscious actions taking the a/c into the stall regime.

Re: Shoreham Air Show Plane Crash
Now the jury have been taken for a day out. For goodness sake. Wonder if this was the idea of the prosecution or the defence or did the judge just want a day out of court.

Jurors were then invited one-by-one or in pairs to climb into the cockpit
Only certain jurors could enter in pairs

Eight of them are women. Was it short skirts stockings and suspenders when clambering up the ladder to the cockpit. I reckon the judge was there on the hangar floor to record the whole event.Pontius Navigator wrote: ↑Tue Feb 05, 2019 8:32 amJurors were then invited one-by-one or in pairs to climb into the cockpit

They probably have completely the wrong idea of what a 'joy stick' is. Were most likely looking where to fit the batteries.
See Andy was not there. No point really.

I know juries are 'secret' but interesting 4-8 m-f split. I wonder at the age split as well.

This was to be expected. He doesn't know why he performed the manoeuvre as he did. He can't remember anything about the flight. Interesting defence.

Re: Shoreham Air Show Plane Crash
It is a fairly well known phenomenon for post-traumatic amnesia to occur especially as he was in a comma for some time afterwards.
This is not incompatible with what he said to the medics at the crash site.
I am not a psychiatrist or similar but the way I see it, the events leading up to the air show would have been routine and of no special significance until things went pear shaped. After the crash the whole sequence would be in electrical memory and could be replayed mentally in slow motion and great detail. In this instance he could not do this as he was in a coma.
In the ordinary event that electrical memory will be stored in chemical memory or simply filed as 'routine'. In this case, in a coma, no such consolidation or transfer took place.
I would be surprised if Hill's defence did not include a pyschiatrist.

The thing is whether he can remember or not, it happened!

This Jonathan Whaley chap doesn't like Andy or what he did. One of your lot C16. Suppose he feels that Andy has ruined the good reputation of the dsiplay pilot 'club'. And, wrecked a perfectly good Hunter. They must know each other.

Yes, an ex Lt RN. Didn't know him. I was surprised how harsh his comments were.

Actually I don't think Jonathan Whaley is on either side. He is now saying if Andy had banged out there could have been even more loss of life.
