27:45 Selected full thrust reverse at 7 feet/200 kts with no gear down.

Not that I have ever considered flying PIA, but one wonders why anyone else now would.

p.s. Is it even possible to pre-arm thrust reverse in any airliner, as we did in the Tornado?

Those PIA checklists in full

Pre-Start
Insh'Allah

Start
Insh'Allah
Press start buttons

Pre-Take Off
Insh'Allah

Landing
Insh'Allah

After Landing
Fancy a beer?
Ooh, Insh'Allah

As previously mentioned, I worked for them for a few years and often travelled on the flight deck. In those days, the whole set-up was far more professional, though there can't be many airlines where prayers are said before take-off, at least not over the PA system. Many of the pilots were ex Air Force, and the discipline and training showed through.
As I understand it, nowadays many of them are just playboys, who have no real interest in the job. They are the sons of rich families who are simply indulging themselves. PIA is by no means unique in that respect of course, but sooner or later, it will come back to bite them on 'the two cheeks of their same backsides', a quote lifted from a recently-elected politician :)

Reminiscent of the AirBlue Airbus crash in the Margalla Hills north-west of Islamabad in 2012. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airblue_F ... Flight_202

I wonder if there is something about Pakistan aviation I should be aware of...................... :-o

PIA used to have a flight that left Manchester late in the evening and if Mrs 1DC and I were staying at the Radisson airport hotel overnight we would walk down to T2 to watch the absolute chaos at the check in desks as the passengers with half of the population of Bradford assisting tried to get double the baggage allowance on to the aeroplane. Always total bedlam and that was just the passengers!!

I'm surprised they don't try to sit on the roof, like they do with the trains and buses ;)))

Thread drift warning:-
Presumably those travelling on the roof would pay a reduced fare?

At least the ones in London have a barrier around the roof seating.

Aloha tried the open seating arrangement once, it wasn't popular for passenger aircraft.

Our friend Mentour did a video of this accident which is worth watching - see if it encourages you to fly with PIA......................

Another excellent report by Mentour, who is based near to me in Girona, although I have never knowingly met him. Anyone know if he visits us here ?
