Do you suffer from monachopsis?

#1 Post by Capetonian » Mon Oct 30, 2017 3:42 pm

I'd never heard of it until about 5 minutes ago, heard it mentioned on a radio talk show. It was described as 'not fitting in to the modern world' along the lines of being a Luddite.

Seems to suit me very well.

n. the subtle but persistent feeling of being out of place, as maladapted to your surroundings as a seal on a beach—lumbering, clumsy, easily distracted, huddled in the company of other misfits, unable to recognize the ambient roar of your intended habitat, in which you’d be fluidly, brilliantly, effortlessly at home.

Let's see now...

I abhor Facefcuk, Twatter etc.
I prefer the old values, e.g. work ethic.
Global warming whatever is simply a con.
I don't give a rats arse who Mick Jagger, George Clooney, and or any other damn celeb (m or f) is screwing, because they certainly don't give a crap about me.
Rather fly older aircraft without bloody FMCs and GPS (TCAS ok).
Don't like poofters (and I don't have to like 'em neither).
If islamics can't hack their new country's laws and customers they can fcuk off where they came from.

To this end I think if I went back to my Oz I'd me monachopped to bits with an axe.

Dunno how "my Oz" got there Mr Uni. The "my" is long redundant.

Last time I was down there 4 years ago I was more culture-shocked than I was 10 years prior. No hope of me ever going back - even if all the socialists and greenies were shot and the place declared a tax haven. Besides I'm entrenched and well settled in N. Thailand anyway.

Only thing I've kept is the passport. It's free of travel restrictions which is valuable in my particular racket.
