Proud dad
Proud dad
Woohoo! My daughter passed her PPL today!
I like to think it all started when she was about 10 years old and I bought her a balsa & tissue paper, rubber band powered Auster kit. The boys at school wouldn't believe that she'd built it herself.
Go girl!
PS. Completely self-funded.

Buggrin' eck!
She flew solo? Without an instructor in the front seat?
Can females do that?

Just been speaking to her about the test. Apparently, during a simulated engine out landing another aircraft entered the runway. The engine miraculously re-started.

Congratulations young lady!
Re: Proud dad
Fantastic, congrats to her for doing it and to you for supporting her and making it possible.
Re: Proud dad
Thanks everyone, my involvement was limited to encouragement - she payed for it all herself.

Re: Proud dad
What are her aviation intentions?
Re: Proud dad
Purely recreational flying, G-CPTN. She & her husband do a lot of climbing & skiing, so I expect they plan on flying to their preferred recreation areas.
As you may have guessed, they have no children, as they have a lifestyle to maintain.

Congratulations to the Hydrodottir.
Re: Proud dad
Thank you all.
Re: Proud dad
Madam has just advised that she is training for an endorsement on the Piper Arrow. Obtained her PPL on an Archer DX I think.
Looking forward to my first flight with her when I visit next month.

Congratulations to your daughter!
And v cool to be flown by her. Assuming you are also a flyer, you may need to reign in the impulse to offer "advice".... This reminds me of my only driving lesson with my beloved Dad, who was an excellent driver but had no patience whatsoever....all my lessons were with my Mum after that...
Needless to say, I am truly his daughter and now an excellent (ahem) driver, with no patience at all...

Thanks Octopussy, I'm not a pilot, but that may not stop me offering advice.
Actually, having tutored her in maths and computing from a young age, I've now accepted that she has well & truly outstripped my meagre knowledge, and I no longer offer "suggestions".
