I can't helping feeling sorry for Andy Murray

#1 Post by Capetonian » Fri Jan 11, 2019 11:22 am

Never the liked the guy and I'm not the least interested in sport, but I had to feel very sorry when I saw him on the box this morning announcing his retirement. Tennis has been his life and he's given a lot.

Most 'athletes' recognise that their active participation in sport is limited.
Time to plan for an alternative career.

Like Fred Perry, his clothing range is still around.

Yes, but he's only 31 - that's very young to have to hang up his racket.

One of the 'racket's' that he has got into is a big hotel he bought.

I suppose a racket is jungle bunny noise. Is the tennis one a 'racquet' - pretentious Frog word? I believe 'racket' is an acceptable spelling alternative.

He's playing doubles to see how it'll go.

Watched the Nadal v Kyrgios match. Kyrgios turned up to play and it was a good contest. Nadal did get the better of him and thus, has progressed to the next round. Kyrgios may not be every one's favourite but he didn't disgrace himself unlike Tomic.
