Yes, I know that one, but not Aunt Kizzy's, will be there in a few months, will check. Meanwhile .. I hope they have got rid of the thrice ( or more ) accursed Lime Scooters before I get back. The nearby Soup Plantation just South of the pub wasn't a bad joint either.

I had a pleasant morning arranging the living room furniture by switching sizes - the sofa is now on the port side as ones enter. Mopped the floor and attached an IKEA cloth hanger at the wall.

Sorry to read about the aged Aunt's demise, Ibbie.

Afternoon folks. A bit warm here, no rain. Manager from the safari camp up river is bringing his parents here for a sunset cruise in a couple of hours. Must prep the ship. Haven't taken it out for weeks.
Jungle bunny noise again. Suspect a vehicle. I am going to put down a mine field.

She says she is coming to the funeral but told her not to worry if she can't make it, as its over a five hour non-stop drive from Staly Vegas to Margate.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
Afternoon all.
Well that seems faster to me, no obvious problems as yet. Thanks Ali.
After the rain it is a nice sunny day here if a little windy.
Just going to spend an hour or so getting the garden and dead livestock out of the pool, there is at least a rat and a mouse in there.
About 16.30 it will be time to start catering as it takes a while to slow cook.
All for now.

G-CPTN, our local council has, I understand, provided beach wheelchairs so wheelchair users can borrow something with fat tyres and enjoy the seaside. They get something right from time to time.

Lunch will be a little late today, due mainly to Senior Management having a very disturbed night with her lung condition (Brachiectasis) causing long coughing fits, keeping both of us awake and her in some discomfort. Still, just shift everything back about an hour and a half and it'll be fine.

Just caught the last couple of minutes of Antiques Roadshow, it was from C16’s neck of the woods, Richard Price Ex -BA,who specialises in time pieces valued a couple of divers Rolex watches at over £60,000, will try and catch the episode on I-player later in the week.
When all else fails, read the instructions.

Oh, missed that as I was forced to watch Dancing On Ice. Will catch it on iPlayer later. Anyone else see the spat between Jason Gardiner and Gemma Collins on Dancing On Ice? Hilarious. What a diva! The lowest score by the judges yet the public vote her through. I suppose they want to see what she does next week to upset the applecart!
I wasn't sure whether I was watching Gemma's impersonation of Marilyn Monroe, Miss Piggy, an elderly Danny La Rue, Michael Ball in Hairspray, or Ronnie Barker as Dolly Parton.

Full lunar eclipse tonight.
Best bit is around 04:40 to 05:40z in the morning (of Monday).
The gramet is promising fairly clear skies here at circa 56°N 3°W, so should be a good 'un for us in Jockistan.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
Santa Monica Scooters.Dunno if the Scooters are around - been yonks since I've been in LA.
They only appeared mid-2016, a new venture, and as I left in August the local Gestapo (read City Council ) were considering whether to continue to licence them, and whether or not to insist on the wearing of helmets, despite their achieving some 25 mph ( or higher ? ) on the sidewalk, not then necessary tho' they are for bicycles !
Whilst many extol the virtue of these excrescences, and now Auckland and Christchurch are embracing them, I fail to see why they are totally relieved from obeying the simplest of all previous road restrictions, no helmets required, no registration required, or licences to be paid for - yes, one has to pay to "hire" them, but that just makes millionaires of the franchises that own them, nothing to do with local rates and taxes, tho' maybe they have to pay to be allowed to infest the streets with them, dunno ?
Any "rules" local authorities might place upon them are totally ignored, for instance in Santa Monica riders are supposed to have a California drivers licence, for car driving, not motor cycle riding ( where's the sense in that ? ), not ridden on the sidewalk ( ha! ha ! ), only 1 occupant over the age of 18 etc. so why do they Police turn a blind to two small children riding them on the sidewalk and across pedestrian crossings against the signals ? Red light ? Wot's that mean ?
I'm reminded of when I fitted a 25cc two-stroke motor to my old school bike, when I was 16, had to register it as a motor bike, attach number plates fore and aft, wear a helmet, and... undergo a motor bike driving test on it ! ( as best as could be managed ). Only benefit was that I could then ride any power motor bike, even the largest Harley Davidson of the era, and have never had to take another motor bike test - anywhere ! Won one !

Fabulous viewing of the eclipse from lowland Scotland! Deep deep red, just as expected.

My 'children' weren't going to bother, citing something called sleep as an excuse.
I guess with both of them working and having children it is justifiable.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
Morning folks, pleasant little cruise on the lagoon yesterday evening. Our teenager hippo has not been in front of the estate for a few days he popped up to say hello about 1/2 km up river. We have got doves nesting on the top deck. Last year when they did this we didn't take the boat out. We have given up with them now. You dismantle their nest and they build it again in a matter of hours. We took two eggs for a two hour cruise and when we got back mother was straight back on the nest.
Little hazy, 23 degs will get to 35 later. Mammoth watering. Going to the safari camp this evening to discuss a strategy with them of escaping early from the official village function we all have to go to tomorrow. It will be very long speeches in Setswana and no booze. My hip flask is in Greece. Must bring it back here. The Chief seems to consider us reflectives as VIP guests at his bashes. All a complete pain.
