Re: Wot's for Tea, Ma?
All planned. ZA barley salad with rare steak strips, and a lightly curried dressing. Fuggedabawtit. Took dottir#1 and her hubby to airport at sparrowfart (off to their house in Espana), and she emptied her fridge into my car, so it's apparently to be a Thai-style chook stir-fry. One learns to adapt.

Nothing. No tea. Can't open fridge as it's taped shut while epoxy cures. No milk for Muffalo.

Same as the old, WF. Same menu, same staff, but they plan to add a few "signature" dishes. I don't recall a "specials" chalkboard last time I visited, but I took a punt on the lamb kahari and it was very good. No bhindi, so I had saag aloo instead. Lovely. Worth a meet next time you're here.

Veggie curry is cooking in the solar oven at the mo. Will be accompanied with couscous.

Re: Wot's for Tea, Ma?
Couscous makes me fart something really stinky and 'orrible!
Possibly my rabbit dinner tonight will be the last as I'm only 114g overweight by the last measurement smorning (we got a puter driven super-sensitive weighing thingy which Ap uses mainly for cooking), which means maybe I'll be ok in the morning after my hour's run in the bush!

Chook with roast Mediterranean-style vegetables. No spuds because I'm on count-down to me annual HbA1c blood test.
It's always my fault - SWMBO

Re: Wot's for Tea, Ma?
Two things. 1) HbA1c is supposed to show average blood glucose over the previous three months.
And 2) Cold roast or boiled potato, left in fridge overnight, is one of the best sources of Resistant Starch. RS is digested by bacteria in the colon producing Butyrate, Propionate and Acetate. These short chain fatty acids play at important role in Gluconeogenesis. Which is the process whereby the liver produces blood glucose. An over-active liver may often be the cause of T2D. Cold potato is probably one the best things you can eat for T2D.

Roast lamb, mash, green beans, cavolo nero and gravy. To save disturbing the rant thread, I'll post here that a half leg of lamb cost over 14 quid at the Sons of Morris. Robbin bastids.

After a magnificent lunch at a local restaurant - English chef, used to be at the Savoy Hotel London - room for little for tea except wife's home-made bread, butter and jam...

Slasher just about to make sundried tomato risotto for lunch; shall I put some in the post for you?
Glad to hear that you are off the salad diet.

By all means post it TS. FedEx that risotto COD so it doesn't get too cold!
My 'welcome back to civilised grub' dinna tonight was a thick juicy sirloin with every trimming Ap could think of. Her famous apple pie was served up hot and yummy! My belly firmly believes it's now died and gone to heaven.

Ox Tail again
Not at home though, went out to our usual Friday night at the golf club.
SWMBO had something fishy.
