Hola,
Wx as per Snr *Ibbie* gorra have a bit of rain to;
a. Water the garden
b. wash the dust off the cars.
Punto is really missing Slinky, it's a problem, he spends his whole waking day looking, looking.
We have an appointment with a potential new friend for him on Sunday, it's too soon for us but needs must.

The clue is in the name - Meadows.
Raining here, cars arriving from the surrounding areas with significant snow on them.
It's often the case that we get no snow while the roads can be blocked 2 miles up the road either way (we are in the bottom of a valley).

Very sad about Punto Wodders. Hope he/you find a new friend soon.
Yep, we keep one of these in the garage. Some people put squares of shiny congregated sheeting on their fences which seems to put them off. We think that it is the reflection and the noise in the wind. Our grass is too short to interest them and generally they tend to graze on the other side of the lagoon where there is no habitation.

Daughter lost her Scottie. Their spaniel would check out other Scotties and was always disappointed and dejected. After our Scottie left us he would search our car and look questionably at us. Just over two years on, when he met our new Scottie he was very standoffish.
Hope it goes well but we have no idea what dogs see in each other. Other daughter's 7 year old German Shepherd dog and our 12 month Scottie birch are all over each other and in each other's mouths.

That reminds me of the floating turd thread. Hate those MacDonald type frog fries. They should be chunky and served in newspaper.
It really is hippo city here now. At least seven in front of the house grumping away. Difficult to count as they keep bobbing up and down. We had a surface count just now of seven at one time.

Not currywurst, but last night SWMBO fettled a damn fine pasta sauce with some Italian paesano picante sausages, fennel seeds, onion, garlic, tomato and chilli flakes. Served with casarecce pasta, salad and bread. Nice Stellenbosch cab sauv to help it in its way. We're having a family get-together this arvo to celebrate revered mother's 90th last Tuesday. I've ordered steak pie. After that, I'll watch Scotland pi$$ on England's chips in the Six Nations. Well, it's possible, innit?

Woody,
I see you got your chips in one of those bl**dy baskets!
They have become popular around here.
In places that I know they plan to use them, I tell them not to.
The devices are engineered to cool your chips down!

Just found out that I owe the Ayuntamiento (council) €823,18 in respect of this years IBI (rates) Basura (rubbish disposal) and road tax on our two vehicles.
No increase from last year.

My total is €682 for the same stuff, a decrease from the previous year as the road tax on the two vehicles has been cut by 20% as we have an election coming up.
I'm very happy with the services I get for that. It includes Fire dues.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
I pay my IBI monthly over 10 months, car tax will be due soon I expect and I don't pay Basura as we are too far from the nearest bins (I think that is 2km for exemption) we are 2.5 easily.
It'll be about 580€. Beats Council tax innit.

Don't complain. IBI up here was €1585 last year. Expect a 5% rise for 2019. More than Council Tax in Islington. The cars are €56 each. On the plus side, now I'm in the UK for most of the year I'm paying UK income tax which is slightly less than half the Spanish level based on identical parameters.

Snow all day, until just now when it is turning to sleet. About three inches of accumulation.
Am delighted as I spent a large four-figure sum on winter tyres for the electric chariot and we've had almost no snow this winter.

Only a couple of inches of snow here at the moment but its snowing hard and constantly. The dog loves it - bounding around everywhere when he had his walk. Can't say I enjoyed the walk very much!

Yesterday, a young friend took off from an airport in Florida near the Atlantic Ocean around 7AM in a Cessna Skylane. When he next landed, he landed at an airport by the Pacific Ocean in California, about sixteen hours later. I put some stuff in the Private Flying section should anyone be interested in details. He may well be in the news this year, one way or another.

No choppers in yet, Wodrick ? Up here the Spanish and French Catalans vie with each other to put fires out. So many they often set up a flying Fire Control ATC to route them between the sea and the conflagration. By which time we are nervously watching wind direction and checking the cars for a quick departure.....mucho pronto.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
Forecasted rain failed to materialise today, which was nice, as today was a test cruise on our trip boat prior to the season starting at the end of this month. Encountered a small problem in turning the boat at the A1 end of the canal - us passengers had to disembark and haul the @rse end of the boat round by rope due to the build up of silt. T'was all part of the fun.

Eventually one chopper, still here, the Bomberos don't seem to be able to get there by track, they are wandering around sirens going, not getting anywhere.
As I type a relief seems to be turning up. Dunno where they are getting their water from, pools I expect.
