She'll get re-elected time after time in her LA district. She's corrupt, abrasive, and ignorant - so naturally she gets a chairmanship of a key committee in the Democrat congress. Maybe the new DOJ will go after her for money she's funneled to her banker husband, which could lead to removal, but I think that's unlikely.

As for Salvation Army, I believe it came from UK to the US long ago. It's been around here all my life and I regard it as a true, uncorrupted charity doing good works at the level of society where their contribution is most needed. In Detroit it provides shelter, meals, clothing, etc. helping those most in need to get by. I, too, give to Salvation Army regularly, and have successfully encouraged others to do likewise. There are a lot of noble-sounding charities out there, but when you research their financials you find most of their revenues go to fundraising and paying staff, not to the cause. Salvation Army, however, spends its receipts efficiently on the ground in the grittiest parts of the city. If I had to choose a single recipient of my charitable donations Salvation Army would be the one.

Yes Ben. The Salvation Army did bloody good work in the **** area of Adelaide where I was raised and I never forgot that. Even though my own family wasn't on easy street either my folks could always rustle up a few cents for the Salvos as they affectionately are known, and the old uniformed housecalling bloke during the Red Shield was always brought in for a cup of tea. And since my parents were rabid JWs that's really saying something.

While Occasional Cortex is the most idiotic immature clown the USA (or I should say NY 14th District) ever put in Congress, Mad Max appears to have a real brain disorder. A mental patient like that should be barred from having any power of authority of governance and banned from having any form of weapon...like a gavel!

In the RAF we had either the Sally Ann or YMCA, on camp.

At Dishforth we had the Sally Ann. They swapped shifts with the NAAFI for the mobile service.

On night shift the Naffi came around about 18:00, the Sally Ann about 20:00 and if we were working late, again at 02:00 with hot soup.
I always put my hand in my pocket for them at Xmas.

People and organizations who really do good, especially on a volunteer basis, should be remembered in our wills. As I can see the end a-coming for me, though not in the near future, I have started a list of the true do-gooders around me. I'm making that list and earmarking a set of $1,000 gifts to the worthy folks and organizations out there who comfort the afflicted, help the needy, give their time, work in unheralded, thankless environments, and embody the best of human values. I'm not a rich man, but my plan is to set aside $100,000 for this purpose. My list now is Salvation Army, VFW, Hillsdale College, Judicial Watch, Purple Heart, Senior Gleaners and a few more. The emotive for me is that there is nothing so pure as giving of yourself to help others, especially those in need.

The rest of my estate will go to my wife as she should outlive me by many years and I want her to have a long, secure, worry-free existence. That's why I haven't yet bought my new, tricked out Ford F-150 Lariat yet that I want to be my Mexico car. But I'm headed back down there on Monday and my story might change. I've got the itch.

Mine says (essentially) "All to wife". Thai wills are so easy and straightforward.

Poor old Chump - the dementia has really affected his memory quite badly. He now cannot recall his many comments on wikileaks from just 3 years ago.

Judging by the Mueller reports, Assange was a great asset to the Chump and mini-chump. I guess the Chump will grant him a presidential pardon?

You've read the Mueller reports? Where'd you get them?

The full report is out now? I thought it was only the summaries.

I wanted to ask Ben, since the loony 'crats are trying to gauge out Trump's tax returns (which they can't), why doesn't he simply shut them up by demanding theirs (e.g. Mad Max, Pocahontas, etc) which he can as POTUS? Why should he be magnanimous to these morons.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news to you Boac.

I guess the real chump is the Dems huh?

Let's know when you've read the full Barr report too! :)

One of President Trump's most endearing traits is how he makes the opposition, such as Boac, dance to his tune. Perhaps his greatest talent is broadcasting outrageous tweets, which draw cackles of ridicule from the Left, which turn out to be true, prescient even. As of today, I think the president has control and manipulates the suffering fools. It'll be sad to see him go in 2025 when Pence takes over.

Actually he does that quite well indeed Ben but I think the 'crats are making themselves look like the morons they are without his help.

BTW good luck with making Dearborn civilised for normal everyday Americans gain. If a woman mayor from Irving TX can punch holes in these ratbags' nonsensical demands using the Constitution then surely the whole of Michigan can.

OK. I give. What was published in July 2018.

So President Trump proposes sending the overflow of illegal immigrants, who must be released under current law once they cross the porous border and ask for asylum, to sanctuary cities that courageously declared solidarity when there was nothing at stake, like my closest city, Ann Arbor, Michigan.

I think it's a brilliant stroke. Democrats want open borders because they think it will give them votes. All sanctuary cities have Democrat majorities. Isn't it fair they absorb all the illegal immigrants? They wanted it, they supported it politically, they like it - surely they'll be happy with this innovative policy that gives them what they wanted, although they may change their minds if their rape, murder, hit-and-runs, and such crime rates grow exponentially as has happened after the influx of illegals elsewhere.

Can't lay off the temptation to ridicule can you, Boac?

I asked a simple question as I reviewed my posts to try to discern what you're on about. I came up empty so I simply sought clarity so I could respond. You took the opportunity to make a snide, disparaging remark. I guess that's part and parcel of your general outlook, but I'd much rather carry on a respectful, intelligent debate/discussion.

Courtesy of 'Splinter - says it all really. Bet you're really proud of the Chump. They could call it the '73Chump'.

"President Donald Trump has a long history of hilariously failed eponymous business ventures: Trump steaks, Trump vodka, Trump casino...you name it. Nevertheless, the president-slash-marketing intern has a brilliant idea for airplane manufacturer Boeing in the wake of an Ethiopian Airlines crash that killed all 157 passengers on board and grounded the company’s 737 Max line: How about a rebrand?

Of course! Why don’t they just fix the problem?? Folks, we’re dealing with a mega-brain super-genius here. (Previously Trump suggested the airplanes were just too darn complicated for his liking, and whined that he didn’t “want Albert Einstein to be my pilot.)

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump

What do I know about branding, maybe nothing (but I did become President!), but if I were Boeing, I would FIX the Boeing 737 MAX, add some additional great features, & REBRAND the plane with a new name.
No product has suffered like this one. But again, what the hell do I know?

As for the president’s (rhetorical?) question: What the hell does he know? Well, he did once manage a short-lived airline that declared bankruptcy in 1992 and has also owned private jets—a point Fox News has used as proof positive that Trump is definitely an aeronautic expert.

In any case, it’s nice to see the president of the United States take time out of his busy schedule to offer some sympathy and advice to a “suffering” multi-billion-dollar company. Truly a man of the people.
