After a long design process here is the new BT logo.

Today's rant comes to you courtesy of SWMBO. My brother has asked if I fancy a lunchtime pint.

The firm of 'consultants' who would have been paid vast sums of money for managing this 'project' must be laughing out loud.

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
I've just heard that the model railway show organised by Market Deeping Model Railway Club that was due to take place today in Stamford has had to be cancelled because two 15 yr old vandals broke in overnight and completely destroyed all the model railway layouts and associated locomotives & rolling stock as well as the various trade stands. Years of work by dedicated modellers destroyed in minutes - in one case an 'O' gauge layout that took 10 years to create plus 20 years worth of hand-built rolling stock & locomotives. The police have apprehended the culprits but I suspect that their "punishment" won't be too heavy-handed

An interesting report on the real reason why women have to work longer before getting their pension.

After two more refusals to close my account and remove my personal details I told them today that a letter would be going to the Information Commissioner's Office in the morning with a formal complaint against them. Amazingly within two hours they complied with my wishes...I wonder why!CharlieOneSix wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2019 6:10 pmI agree with you. Re: Rant of the Day v2.
Just had an email from the Tax man (genuine this time) telling me there was a nessage. Took over an hour to log in. Verify my email address - the one they had was over 20 years out of date (remember they just sent an email to my current address).
I updated my address. Then they sent a check message to my old phone number that we left 18 months ago. They had our new number.
Eventually got through. The message was the same as a hard copy sent last month. Pillocks.
So much stuff is now in line, if your computer goes belly but you're screwed.

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
I have been trying to get HMRC to send correspondence to my UK address since 1st Jan 2018. No, they send it to Spain, an address they only used for my state pension when I lived there full time. Half the post got lost, chucked away by the postmaster as uncollected. I posted last years return on time, recorded delivery. Heard nothing, where did they send any correspondence ? Naturally HMRC pensions do use my correct UK address, just the tax people use Spain. I have now written to their DG. See if she can get them to use the correct address... As you say, pillocks.

BBC getting its priorities wrong again. A major industry (steel making) is on the verge of going down the pan, our national future is undecided and what is the main item on the TV news?? Jamie feckin Oliver's food simulator shops going into administration.
I've eaten at one of his places and the food was worse than the sludge produced at Crwt-y-Gollen Army camp.

I feel sorry for Jamie Oliver's employees but the so-called restaurants and that sandwich shack at LGW N were a disgrace to the word food.
I understand that he did some good work for underprivileged kids, which is very commendable, but gastronomy is better off without him.

The Telegraph reports that a bank and a supplier are going after him as he provided personal guarantees.
Re: Rant of the Day v2.
Jamie's Italian outlet in St Albans closed permanently in January 2018 after largely mediocre reviews from 1224 cuctomers, having reportedly lost £9.9 million in 2017.

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
One is car-less today. Took me Honda to the dealers yesterday to have the Auto-start checked - it had stopped working ....again, indicating there was insufficient charge in the battery. Stupid woman on the service desk said it was because I had the radio on whilst I was driving!!!
Told her a 250 mile drive up the motorway should be more than enough to re-charge the battery...........and cook a three course meal if it was fitted with an oven.
After spending sometime with the service manager explaining what had happened since their last attempt to fix it, he said they would put it on the diagnostics and I should have the car back later that day. Received a phone call late on yesterday afternoon,.."Err, your battery isn't taking a charge. Can we keep the car overnight so we can give it a continuous charge to see if that works?"
Why not just change the (expletives deleted) battery??? Is it because it's still under warranty and therefore they can't wring lots of quids out of me for a replacement?
I took the opportunity to have a chat at another Honda dealer when I was with junior daughter sorting her car out and the guy said it needs a replacement battery. He nearly pi$$ed himself laughing when I told him about the "excuse" of having the radio on when I was driving, adding "FFS, that's the kind of thing that get's us a bad reputation".
Have told Honda if it isn't properly fixed this time, there'a good chance we will be entering Sale of Goods Act and Provision of Goods and Services Act territory. "Reasonable expectation" is a good phrase to have to hand.

Apparently MrsWoodys pink sweatshirt is not a colour, but white, when washing
When all else fails, read the instructions.
