Wouldn't boot

#1 Post by Pontius Navigator » Fri Jun 14, 2019 6:02 am

Yesterday looking at New computer, better spec, same price as earlier Win 7 machine.

Last night computer wouldn't boot. Used Kindle to find help online which was basically to keep switching off once splash screen started. After about 3goes it opened with a diagnostic routine. This got me to a recovery section with various options. Mine route was to advanced and then restore which took over night whic h it did to the last update.

Bloody Windows.

Hot tips.

1. Don't let old computer know you are looking at a new machine.
2. Have a second device to get help.
3. Print off password list.
4. Make more of program to find Cloud back!

6. Don't allow updates.

I've got an i-Mac, I don't seem to have the problems that Win users have. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Yes, trouble is Win PC tended to be cheap. Mrs PN has an iPad S L O W.

Doesn't want a new one.

On another forum, there's a link to an article about a 10 year old girl conquering El Capitan(in Yellowstone Park). I, quite light-heartedly, asked if she could conquer Windows 10 as well. Oh dear!! what a miserable, humourless bunch of prats they are on that forum.

Well what a stupid question. Any 10 year old can.
