ET crash ADD NBO
Re: ET crash ADD NBO
I suspect a night of Mussels and Stella in Brussels (Yes, Mussels in Brussels......) since current direction would take them over Muttiland and she (quivering slightly) said Nein!
Re: ET crash ADD NBO
A sharp left turn with 100nm to go and they appear to have decided they can make Amsterdam. Hopefully no 'Red Lights' before the night stop.
Re: ET crash ADD NBO
Not quite sure why they had to meander like a drunken snail across France.
Maybe if they have a relief crew (no, not the Slasher sort... ) slumbering gently in the back they could be home tonight. Otherwise one easy if boring hop 'morra.Re: ET crash ADD NBO
Well, no Dam Square tonight, poor folk. On they go.

Currently descending through fl13, North of CPH, doesn’t look like Stockholm.
When all else fails, read the instructions.

Re: ET crash ADD NBO
I have had great difficulty in establishing what the latest problem with the Max and its autopilot is. It is quoted as 'sometimes does not disengage' but when where and how I cannot find. I know colleagues who have had 'normal' a/p disengagement on the Classic and NG but whether this is some new feature involving MCAS or not I know not.
Too many dark holes (unfortunately two of them 'smoking'). Does anyone have more information?

A touching video of a LionAir Captain's last flight (I suggest you pick it up about 1:30). The subtitle should probably read:
"Thank God the Max didn't kill me"

Hints that 'something' may be happening - both RyanAir and Norwegian are dropping hints about 'October' for a return to service.

I too felt like kissing the ground after some particularly nasty flights I can tell you!Boac wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2019 8:04 amThe subtitle should probably read: "Thank God the Max didn't kill me"

As an aside my last flight before retiring was a quiet affair after return to the Gulf. Saluting and handshaking - akin to that sub captain (Gene Hackman) when he left the Alabama towards the end of Crimson Tide (but without the cigar and the peeing Jack Russell).
Pissup was later.

Which reminds one of the old joke;
Why does the Pope always kiss the ground when he arrives in a foreign country?
Have you never flown with Alitalia?

From O'Leary's mouth:
“Boeing are telling us at the moment they expect to be back flying by the end of September,” O’Leary said in an interview

If Boeing were realistically expecting to not have the MAX flying again until next year at the earliest, what do you think their PR would be telling people?

Re: ET crash ADD NBO
Remove MACS.
Recertify 737MAX.
Teach crew to recognise stall following rapid augmentation of power settings and deal with it appropriately (training).
Problem solved.

Re: ET crash ADD NBO
OFSO - it has very little to do with "recognise stall following rapid augmentation of power settings" and 'remove MCAS' = un-certifiable under current rules.
way to go!

Re: ET crash ADD NBO
Eric Lindblad, the Boeing 737 program chief, has just retired after less than a year in the job. Boeing are saying it's all perfectly normal, and that he "mentioned retiring last year", to quote the Boeing Commercial VP.
Interesting that they should appoint a guy to the most high profile and troubled position in the company who was only going to be there for less than a year.

Re: ET crash ADD NBO
Interesting that Boeing can't even be bothered to come up with a new excuse, seeing as how the previous guy to Lindblad also wished to retire suddenly.
Scott: “Earlier this year Scott came to me expressing his desire to retire and spend more time with his family", McAllister said in the memo
Eric: "He shared with me his desire to retire last year", McAllister said in the memo
