Being the recipient of too many speeding tickets in recent months I wish I had the presence of mind to pen such a marvel!

I can see why he would regret sending that. What an error - fancy ending a "Dear Sir/Madam" letter with a complimentary close of "Yours sincerely". :D

You are quite right. Enough to make one fully lose faith! :)

As for the formatting, shouldn't the "Yours" be aligned on the left?

And the letter is undated. Deserves all he gets.

"11 Feb 2019 · The 14-day speeding ticket rule All the police need to do is show the ticket should have reached the vehicle's registered owner under normal circumstances within 14 days. ... The 14 days also does not include the day of the speeding offence."

As the offence took place in 19th Oct and their letter was not written until 16 days after the offence no fine was admissible.

In my case the policeman wrote his letter after a week, passed it to admin who posted it on the following Monday, day 14. When I told him he immediately said ignore the letter. I didnt even have to prove it.

Dearest George,

I hate your guts. I’ve been banging your best mate Jim for the last two years behind your back and I moved in with him today while you were at the office.

Yours faithfully,

Marsha
