Yes I was a dirty young man. I also didn’t bathe much either. Went to bed mainly with dirty feet. I trusted dirt I couldn’t see or feel.

Now I’m just a plain dirty (but clean) old man! :ymdevil:

In my current post-airline era, if I thoroughly showered just before going to bed and didn’t sweat during the night nor discharge any fluidic farts:

1. Get up
2. Wash face (shave if absolutely necessary)
3. Brush teeth
4. Deodorise, aftershave (whether I shaved or not), dress
5. Go out. Face the world.

If I did sweat or trusted farts when I shouldn’t’ve, then number 2 item above replace with ‘thorough shower’.

Before bed:
1. Thoroughly shower (if not possible then just dowse face hands and bottom of feet)
1a. Note to self to shower in the morning
2. Brush teeth. Rinse with bottled water if need be.
3. Sleep

What I like (esp in HKG) is I don’t have to shave like every damn time I went to work in my airline days. Who am I doing myself up for? I let it grow to the point where I feel I’m a scruffy bum then shave the lot off. Great refreshing feeling!

At home I only shave if me and Ap are going to roll around in the cot. She loathes beards - it scratches her face...and um...other places. She can’t understand how other women can put up being slobbered over by facial cacti and thornbushes.

Can't start the day without a shower. depending on what I've been doing during the day, I may have one before bed or before going out.

Re beards, when I was young and innocent, and had just grown a beard, a lovely young lady said to me "I wonder what it's like to kiss a man with a beard."
Like a fool, I said "I don't know, I've never kissed a man with a beard."

Never thought of shower habits but suddenly realised that in Greece I have a shower in the morning to be fresh for the day and the girls. Here in the evening cos you get covered in sand and sweat all day and want to be clean in bed. Can't stand stubble. Shave every morning. Once decided to grow a beard. Quite fancied the Duke Of Kent style. After four days it was driving me crazy. Now, RiS has got a cool hair/beard style. Will not let on unless he confesses. Only a few people here know.

1DC, not such a happy ending, but got home after an unplanned 4 day diversion living in the same kit day in day out and then sealed in a goon suit. Had to strip at the front door - outside!

Years before, after a jungle survival course got back to the mess. Large open veranda, our rooms, and towels, were large, neat and carpeted. We all stripped naked in the open, dashed in for towels, and off for a bit shower.

When we returned all the heaped muddy stinking clothes had gone. The amah had taken them and returned them the next day all clean and pressed.

A shared bath is simply a warm soup of someone else's pubic hair.

"They also waste clean water, which so many people in the world lack access to."

Well, ship them some of ours, Doncaster seems to have more than enough.

If you've got it, use it.

I was told that at Duntroon in the 1950s senior year cadets were permitted to share a bath. Junior cadets had to use showers.

perhaps this explains a lot.

Yep you’re clean Fliegs. Can’t find any Interpol convictions, no burglary charges, records of square dancing in a round house, no drunk and disorderlies, etc. Fresh and chaste as the virgin snow!

If you are really going to be a dirty boy you need to find a dirty girl...

While I was an exchange student in the US I was taught to shower everyday. I did keep it ever since with a notable exception of my military service. Back then I went for about 20 days without a shower because at the GCA/TACAN facility I was assigned there was very little water for shower - a water tanker was involved.

Ever since I take a shower every morning and when I feel I had a tiring/intensive day once I return at home. I have a great difficulty to sleep after taking a shower (maybe because it is a part of the morning routine) so a shower just prior to going to bed is avoided.

Ex-A thanks for the comment - most people now think it is a bit on the large size. I grew it while I was at the university in the UK and I wanted to negotiate and use some beard stroking coordinate my thoughts. The first few days is terrible itchy it gets better after about a week.

I hated locker room communal showers after sport in high school. Everyone doing their damndest to avoid seeing each other’s dicks. If you were caught even glimpsing one you were instantly branded a raving rabid poofter for life!
