This happened the same day as the tornadoes.

ps,

We have "stupid driver" laws here where drivers who ignore road closures and drive around barricades can be charged for the cost of there rescues.
this, however, should be elevated to criminal stupidity.

I saw that on the news this evening, there was no mention of the crossing being closed. If it bleeds it leads.

This is the vehicle that tried to cross Tonto Creek in AZ.

So, what drives it?
Is it 'No rules apply too me?', ''They'll put up barricades for a 3 inch trickle?', 'Press-on-itis?', Not understanding the exceptional hazard?
I took a hike up Oak Creek Canyon near Sedona, AZ. We checked the weather forecast religiously for days beforehand. About a week later, there was a huge thunderstorm, and 8 hikers came round a corner to have a 20 foot high wall of water coming at them. All dead. It could be just that people assume a desert state never has much water. I note the report says they were visitors.

Fox, in Ascension Island are water eroded streams and waterfalls - no water. Just shows the power when it rains.

One day we had 5 inches in about an hour.

These people also qualified for Darwin Awards as they took three kids out of the gene pool. They kids don't qualify, as I'm sure they weren't driving. Maybe if they had been they might have thought better about trying to cross the creek.
