Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
The prime duty of any government is to protect the population of that country.
Does this mean the Maybot could be charged under UK law for failing so to do by negligence or malicious intent?
Helping Britain’s enemies was one of the crimes subject to the Treason Act..........

I think you will find 'call me Dave' is actually the guilty party.

Check the sawnee river, available half price, love him or leave him. More one star reviews than 5. Many of the 5 star are roundly condemned.Pontius Navigator wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2020 10:30 am+1
Anyone heard anything about his memoirs? Are they on the remainder list yet?
In retrospect I think he was right to resign on the basis that he nailed his flag to the wrong mast. Where he was quite wrong was saying he would abide by the referendum and take us out, then resigned.

Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
Today the Bank of England announces nearly 50,000,000 new shiny indestructible polymer banknotes have had to be replaced since introduction “due to damage”.
Prior to the 2016 introduction the BoE said “The new notes will cost 50% more to produce but estimates it will save £100,000,000 as the new notes will have to be replaced far less frequently”. Another brilliant idea down the pan.
Not dissimilar to the scrapping of paper road fund licence discs which have lost millions in revenue and the conversion of the Thames Dartford crossing which has lost millions in revenue to foreign registered vehicles since the tollbooths were abolished and the ANPR system was introduced. Why they can’t grab these drivers at the ports and refuse boarding of ships or Eurotunnel trains until the toll is paid? Or is that real rocket science?
Now I know where my tax money’s being spent I will sleep more soundly, not that I snore......

You do know that vegan twactivists complained about the new notes because they have 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% of some animal product in them. No doubt that is the real reason they are being replaced. All that plastic/polymer is going to either be burnt or go into landfill, the activists should be happy with that.
Not just that, but this too :

Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
Cape, +1! But those who dream up these wacky ideas presumably get promoted or ‘earn’ a bonus for their idea which they’ve managed to sneak past all the other dorks in the Civil Service or occasionally a private company board?
Alas we never hear of them being fired, placed in the stocks for public amusement and abuse or even shown the portable guillotine and encouraged to give back their unearned cash.
Re the banknotes it’s reassuring that they don’t melt until 120 degrees Centigrade, that’s outside the spec of my washing machine, though if I tried steam-cleaning my clothes or the notes themselves it might become a problem........

HMP Whitemoor: Brusthom Ziamani named as attack suspect https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-c ... e-51049853
If you had ultimate authority, within the law, to deal with folk like this, what would you do?
Answers on a postage stamp please.

Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
Um...just wondering what that might be under the current huggy fluff laws there.“We do not tolerate assaults on our hardworking officers and will push for the strongest possible punishment."
Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
By declaring the attack 'terrorist -related' the options widen a bit.

Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
W T F? ! Good to know whilst UK police busy tracking down and arresting ordinary folk for “crimes” on social meeja, they were too busy or under-resourced or just plain NFI to pursue this scandal happening in plain sight.
Manchester sex abuse: 'Fundamental flaws' left children unprotected https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-m ... r-51093159
Equally horrifying is the sacking of those in the system who blew the whistle and were themselves made victims.

Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
100% with you, BM. From tonight's news the investigation was 'closed' by GMP prematurely and those who shovelled the sh!t under the carpet were given 'commendations' and presumably promoted accordingly - they should be tried for negligence.

Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
If this is typical of what UK plod regards as a priority in times of scarce resources then the vid explains it all.
The longer version is worth a looksee, pity they decided to pick on an ex-copper ! !
The Police told me to “Check my thinking” for a tweet-You Tube is the reference for the full 1 hour of disbelief.........
Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
I hope we can resurrect this thread in view of the finding of the conduct of The Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and the 'Social Services' in the enquiry into the abuse of young girls by gangs mainly comprised of Asian men?
It appears (as I posted in #333) from the enquiry (called by Andy Burnham, Mayor of Manchester) that GMP and the Services failed the victims - and the whole of the UK - with their dismal efforts. Presumably the direction - not to create racial unrest by pursuing the enquiry - must have come from above the 'average' member of the police force. According to the Telegraph https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/0 ... -grooming/ the police were directed to find 'other ethnicities to investigate' according to one police witness.
Y'all will have to put up with an article from the Guardian (!) https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/202 ... pe-justice from which I quote:
"The authors of the report concluded: “There was significant information held by both Manchester City Council and Greater Manchester Police on individuals who potentially posed a risk to children, but we can offer no assurance that appropriate action was taken to address the risks they presented to children. There were very few criminal justice outcomes resulting from Operation Augusta. Fundamentally, Operation Augusta failed to meet the original objective of tackling the widespread and serious sexual exploitation of looked after children.”
“Fundamentally, we believe, from the evidence that we have seen, that the decision to close down Operation Augusta was driven by the decision by senior officers to remove the resources from the investigation rather than a sound understanding that all lines of enquiry had been successfully completed or exhausted.”
This is just not acceptable. If 'racial unrest' will result then so be it. These gangs were guilty and have gone largely unpunished. IMO it is time to stop pussy-footing around and establish who made the direction to restrict the enquiry and punish them in whatever way possible. It seems to me that it was not strictly 'police errors' that were to blame, but interference in the proceedings. Whether it be senior police or government direction, this must be sorted out and cease. Someone has to protect children. Racial issues must not interfere.

Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
Interesting little facet here - I see that the Mayor (Andy Burnham) is also the PCC - Police and Crime Commissioner for GMP, so you might say 'well placed' to sort this out. There is also a pool of 'smell' around the GMP's handling of evidence for the Manchester Arena bombing. With the on-going problems in the MET Police, it is becoming rapidly apparent (at least to me!) that a large slice of our British Police force may not be 'fit for purpose'.
The GMP have been forced to re-open the investigation, now known as 'Operation Green Jacket'. One of the results of Andy Burnham's enquiry is that "Since Operation Augusta there has been a significant change in how child sexual exploitation is viewed: it is recognised as a serious form of child abuse." No sh!t Sherlock!!??
More details in this report https://www.greatermanchester-ca.gov.uk ... anchester/ covering the first findings of the enquiry, published last Tuesday.
Don't forget that as in post #333, commendations and presumably promotions resulted from the initial suppressed enquiry. What?! I think that should read dismissals and loss of pensions and possibly even convictions! No doubt as with other Police 'wrong-doing', those 'guilty' will be allowed to resign first.

Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
Time to gently inject the query - has the 'racial' problem all along been any preponderance of a particular 'religion' amongst the perpetrators?

Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
Since any form of serious observation or debate on this subject is immediately met with shrieks of racism from the usual suspects (BBC, media, socialists) it has been impossible to air this properly. The Police seem to be so driven by being PC and not offending those requiring attention that they are not fit for purpose, and the leftie lazy bastard social services equally so.
Hopefully the impending irradiation of socialism may usher in a more common sense approach to these criminals, not only the perpetrators but those in the Police and social services who failed in their duty should be sent down for quite some time.
