Arguable that "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet", in that barometric pressure is read in Imperial inches in my house, because that's how my venerable (and inherited) instrument displays it on the analogue dial face. Same thing being measured, and a rather nice daily habit is to gently tap it to overcome "stiction" in its workings ...
