Re: Cricket
Just wishful thinking on my part Ian as the PE Test is being played on my long weekend off, I could catch a flight on Thursday night, internal flight to PE and catch most of the 2nd days play on Friday, don’t think that I could afford the lawyers fees when I get home though

The Port Elizabeth Test match has passed without comment!
A nice result, but I'm not getting too excited as I think this SA side is very poor.

Agree that ZA are a poor team, but it is giving England a chance to rebuild their game after the Baylis years.

Wanderers is usually a fast bowlers wicket, so things will be different.

Shouldn't someone be posting a METAR for the ground?

Re: Cricket
Well it is the rainy seasonRain has delayed the start of England's second one-day international against South Africa in Durban.
Prospects of play are looking slim at Kingsmead with more rain forecast and a minimum of 20 overs per side required to constitute a complete game.
The hosts are 1-0 up in the three-match series after victory by seven wickets in the first ODI in Cape Town on Tuesday.
The third ODI takes place in Johannesburg on Sunday at 08:00 GMT.
England's previous two ODIs against South Africa in Durban in 2005 and 2009 were both abandoned because of rain.

Re: Cricket
Well, cricket is a summer sport so you can't blame the Seef Africans for it coinciding with the rainy season down here.

That was when it was an English game, nowadays more top class countries play it in their winter.Mrs Ex-Ascot wrote: ↑Fri Feb 07, 2020 1:15 pmWell, cricket is a summer sport so you can't blame the Seef Africans for it coinciding with the rainy season down here.
Windies, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh all play in their winter!
Only England, Oz, NZ and ZA play in their summer.
Must add, it's still raining.

And it's raining here too!
Not sure if the annual Maun cricket charity match will take place this year; the previous pitch has been trashed by Ellies and the previous one to that despite not being under water any more is now under a land ownership dispute.
