Re: Trivia Question of the Day
OK I could ask what a group of warthogs are called but just answered that on Trabb. Sticking with life here we have twenty bats pooping and peeing on our veranda from the rafters. How long can we expect these bats to live if I do not shoot them? For an extra point what are their collective nouns. It all depends where they are and what they are doing.

A poopery would be closer Ian. Actually not too bad today but sometimes it is absolutely awful. At the luxury camps they 'bat' them out but apart from the mess which we do not have to clean up we quite like them. These are Peters' epauletted fruit bats. You do not have them. They a southern African but like altitude.

Re: Trivia Question of the Day
Not a problem down here by the 'oggin and it wasn't in Joburg.
We have seen bats flying in both places, but nut roosting.
Dunno where they go.

Which plant does Gilroy, California, celebrate every summer during a three-day festival?

Re: Trivia Question of the Day
The only Gilroy I know is this one, where they celebrate BEER!
I believe a former member might have a financial interest in it.
He was p*ssed off because I wasn't complimentary about the beer.

Quite near Gilroy is Watsonville, CA. What is it known for?

Re: Trivia Question of the Day
They had some riots in Watsonville back in the 1930s, and they also have an air show. That's about it as far as I'm concerned.
I've been to the Gilroy Garlic Festival, although didn't go last year and so missed the shooting incident.

I know about the airshow EAA Antique I think.
Not what I was looking for. Think food.
Thought you would get this if anyone did.

Re: Trivia Question of the Day
Ian, have you tried their Ginger beer? I found it outstanding. We are still in contact with said former member.

Re: Trivia Question of the Day
We only went there the once.
Drank 3 'pints' of his 'bitter', I found it rather bland. But there is no accounting for my taste.
The two guys with me, another Englishman from Teesside and a Scot, were also unimpressed.
The 3 wives enjoyed the Sunday entertainment.
It was the wrong side of Johannesburg for me, quite a trek and to far to drink & drive. Now 700Km away, it is way out of reach.
Never tried the gingerbeer. Don't thing I can get it this far from civilization.

Re: Trivia Question of the Day
I know they grow fruit down there, but no particular fruit springs to mind. They're in the middle of a very fertile area so everything around there is growing and selling produce on roadside stalls. Gilroy obviously collared the garlic moniker, probably had a better PR guy when it mattered.
