Must have saved hundreds of pounds over the period.
No you don't. I am on the same boat but for less time and my bank accounts are still poor.

Most likely. As a matter of fact I didn't put the amount of a haircut in a box but rather I was shaving my head and going ahead with my life.

I have a several of options - the late dog's clippers haven't been used since his death in June. I also found the manual clippers that were used on me by my father when I was a toddler.
Perhaps I'll take the hippie option.

Run out of beer at the safari camp - just us I must add. :(( They are closed and the managers do not drink. This is only the fourth day of shut down. Brougth a bottle of brandy home yesterday and a case of Savanna. They are going to run out if we are not careful.

My remaining hair is a mess. Can trim it but not thin it. This is my barber on Amorgos. Been cutting hair for about 65 years. Think the shop dates back that far as well. Rusty scissors and he still uses a cut throat razor with very shaky hands :-o

There would be no need for lockdowns if everyone had common sense. Sadly they don't and thus there is. If our Harley Street clinician is wrong and we did not already have the virus my hope is that by my daily exercise walk, well-spaced from anyone and constantly cleaning my hands, I might still encounter extremely small amounts of the virus, enough to trigger an immune response. There are people here who will say I'm walking a tightrope. To which I answer that I'm observing government advice exactly, but with no tests in sight, either for infections or post-infections, and no vaccine for months to come, one can only hope for natural immunity to spread.

OK, now you can all flame me...

Weather has clouded over so the "let's all go on a Summer Holiday mood", has evaporated here in the country which is probably a good thing.

I have taken the good advice of the folks here on ops-normal and and will place an order for an electric hair clipper. Scanning Amazon.

Talking to friends in family in Africa and France on WhatsApp and even the phone. Strangely pleasant to be in touch again. Maybe there will be some positives from this hiatus on the human side after all.

Good health and a happy week to all here.

Just noted the photograph of Ex-Ascot's Amorgos barber. He looks like a character out of a Hemingway novel. Great shot.

Aside from previously mentioned recent unemployment...the virus is affecting me getting rather badly sunburnt. Last week and today spending too much time body surfing Currumbin Alley...and forgetting the sunscreen. Three beaches closing here tomorrow at midnight due to massive overcrowding on the weekend at 'the Spit'. Surfers Paradise Beach & Coolangatta Beach being the other two.

So I supppose I try to spend as much time as possible at the beach and in the water until such time as I need to retreat to the confines of the backyard pool, due to overcrowding by idiots.

Which is a lovely lovely thing, the pool, but has no waves for the sheer joy of riding waves...

It wasn't me that said BJ was on oxygen, it was Probes and she was using a figure of speech to describe his political life and wasn't being literal, I believe.

GG he is an absolute reprobate. Even at that age he can't keep his hands off the women. Two wives have left him. Last year he applied to a dating agency. Bets were on how long she would last. I went for a week. She was on the next ship out the following morning. He jumped on her the moment she stepped through the door.

He also has a carpentry shop, a very small store, is a musician (lots of dosh at weddings) and keeps goats. One of his daughters has an MA from Salford Uni and is a simultaneous interpreter between Greek, English and Italian, maybe frog as well not sure.

Cheers, I was aware that he had been taken to hospital but know nothing of the nature of care or support they are giving him.
