Meanwhile back to the war, which will doubtless resume once the last snot-laden tissue has been safely disposed of in the all-electric climate-friendly tissue macerator;

If this nonsense carries on, it will not be a question of us leaving but then disintegrating around us. Borders closed, medical supplies embargoed from export etc and still Brussels tries to control.

Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion
“and still Brussels tries to control” as Schengen disintegrates all over the Superstate bloc!
Once this financial disaster quietens down and the EUSSR budget discussions restart it may become blindingly obvious the wheels are coming off the entire project.
But will they have the moral fibre to admit a drastic revision is required and forget the increase in members and ever closer integration? I think not.

Well, Macrons in charge now. Days before a meeting to discuss shutting EU borders (except to EU citizens and British, can't go against Schengen, can we) Macro has announced all borders will be closed.

EU leaders, sorry, 'leaders' spent five hours yesterday in a teleconference arguing about the wording of a release saying they had asked 'experts' to look into the EU's economic situation and report back in two weeks.
(Source BBC news). So that's all right, then.

Lest we forget, the enemy is still just outside the door whilst we're running around swatting Covid-19 droplets seen everywhere glinting in the sunlight.
"Hello, Labour Party here! We just thought as we've finally returned to the stage, having been away since gawd knows when, we had to remind you we're back with our new leader, thankfully male, so's he can wave his willy whilst BoJo is locked away in hospital. And here's our latest idea";
Good innit? a great way to start back as Her Maj's loyal opposition and placing our tanks on the lawn before "whale meet again" in the HoC after Easter Break, or whenever...

Not only is the UK well up in the league for Covid-19 deaths but we’re also leaders in the ‘how to wreck an economy in double quick time’ stakes.
And all the time Brexit or not is simmering and the EU edges closer to the precipice...

Meanwhile, back at the office, they're going to try to screw us as much as possible as late into the process as possible.
I just hope our negotiators are made of better metal/mettle than the current 'Elf Secretary?

Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion
Two separate takes on the bills to be dropping through the UK letterbox anytime soon and up to 12 years hence. Firstly, J T and his take on the divorce bill from the EUSSR;
Then, answering a query from earlier somewhere in O-N as to their fate, here’s another take on how much dosh we are supposed to be paying our late lamented spouse(s);
Good to know our esteemed Chancellor of the Dosh discovers important financial info from a chap he met on the London Tube network?!
So all in all, a really grim outlook and that’s on top of the Covid-19 damage...
Today’s kids and grandkids are in for a tough time, even after they’ve buried the “boomer” generation who are to blame for everything.

OH F F S ! Why can't the Remoaners leave it be?? Not long until end June 2020 and still they fight on, full marks for determination and zero for sensitivity to the voice of the electorate and the Parliamentary Bill which was set in concrete. And total avoidance of the issue of the EUSSR itself heading at full speed towards the iceberg doesn't do any of these folks credit.

Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion
Looks like we’re heading down the road to No Deal at the end of June, barely 2 months away.
Michel Barnier is reported as having had Covid-19 but recovered, however the latest noises from him would indicate he is still feverish and is not assimilating information.
The EUSSR is, under his negotiating strategy, complaining that the UK looks like it’s going to properly jump ship and not lay down and be screwed in the manner first accepted by Theresa May. The fisheries issue is featuring large in the talks even though we are told they represent the square root of diddly-squat when it comes to the squillions of Euros/Pounds involved in the trade talks.
Could this be that they represent a REAL exercise in sovereignty and borders which sticks in the craws of the 27 and also that the control of UK fishing grounds will likely stir up civil unrest in those countries used to getting their own way in Uk waters since Heath & Co sold our fishermen down the road in the glorious 70s?
In the midst of Covid we need to stay aware of the dark machinations currently operating and brace for the Remoaners & Rejoiners to rise up once again out of the swamp and start bleating about how awful it will be not to be aboard the SS EU-Titanic as it steams towards disintegration.
As usual, Jeff Taylor You Tube Latest has his particular take on the topic and those who believe we will be better off out need to keep watching and if need be help to hold the feet of the UK Govt close to the fire in negotiations.
Here is an audio-only chat on the issue, a change from Jeff’s deadpan presentation but nonetheless valid comment;

Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion
Indeed - I feel the 'Exit' agreement is a dead canard.
Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion
The Bad Ship EUSSR does seem to be steaming ever faster towards the iceberg, whilst the existing members look on either in envy of the UK's decision, or in anger as they can't get what they wanted.
I always knew from the very start of the EU project that it was doomed, since it contained the seeds of its own destruction. What I didn't expect was that it would unravel so soon.

"I always knew from the very start of the EU project that it was doomed" - you're not related to POTUS, are you?
Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion
There you go again Dr Bo -you just can't stop yourself can you
Maybe you should consider this disorder.
"Asperger syndrome (AS), also known as Asperger's, is a developmental disorder characterised by significant difficulties in social interaction and nonverbal communication, along with restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior and interests.[6]

Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion
Oh dear!! THE END IS NIGH !
Anyone know whence I can obtain one of those old-fashioned sandwich boards beloved of mostly God-Botherers some years ago?
Not only is Monsieur Macroon soiling his underware but sounds like our team are making the sorts of noises, which if they’d been made 3 years ago, then it would be all over and the fat lady could have toddled off to the bar;
I expect our Mr Frost to appear on the video-conferencing circuit very soon with the message “Feck you lot, we’re off, this is a bloody waste of our time! Adieu mes amis!”

Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion
Meanwhile, about a land far far away known as the EU, Jeff talks about UK-US trade talks to start soon, taxes on US social meeja giants, EU proposal for an EU embassy in NornIron (!), UK fishing waters, Germany taking over rolling presidency of EU 01/07 and finally Angular Meercat wants EU wide health service with all the harmonisation and costs which would result though their hopes to ensnare UK NHS in that wild scheme now scuppered;
Just a brief summary for those with limited attention spans...
