Re: The Smokin' Hot Where On Earth Thread Mk III
An old facility on the side of a volcanic island. What's the island called?

Re: The Smokin' Hot Where On Earth Thread Mk III
Ah yes, leek growing! For several years, I lodged at a pub in the lovely village of Ovingham and I got to know the landlord and the locals quite well. One morning after returning from a trip overseas, I asked the landlord how things had been. "Well, for the first time in my life (he'd owned the pub for at least 15 years), I had to call the police on Sunday night." He explained that they'd held the regular leek-judging competition at the pub, but one of the competitors had taken umbrage with the fact that he hadn't been given first prize. People began to take sides and a fight ensued. Apparently both the combatants were pensioners, so your point is well proven 4ma! .4mastacker wrote: ↑Sat May 23, 2020 11:33 pmHe used to live just round the corner from us when he was a lad. Him and his mates played football on a bit of spare ground near our house and their football regularly landed in me dad's garden. He would jump over the fence to retrieve the ball and trample on the plants. Things came to a head when he trampled all over me dad's leeks. His dad worked with my dad in Swan Hunters so a word was had and little Jimmy was grounded - leek growing was a serious business in them parts.

It's a very barren island. Are we in the Indian Ocean?

No - not the Indian Ocean.

Yes ian - a Japanese island.
I told our local Indian takeaway he should change his name to The Ring of Fire after one particularly strong one. He told me that we westerners should develop some intestinal fortitude.

This one seems to have stalled, which maybe isn't surprising! The buildings are the remains of a met station on the active volcanic Japanese island of Torishima due south of Tokyo. https://www.google.co.nz/maps/place/Tor ... 40.3017515

OH declared as I haven't anything new at the moment.
