I'm betting that she was not the first caller either.

Yes, apparently a very posh English accent caller was one of the first.
Because they stand on the wall and say "nothing's gonna hurt you tonight, not on my watch".

Five of these are ceremonial titles for members of the Royal family, conferring no wealth or estates. They are York, Gloucester, Kent, Cambridge and Sussex. Cornwall and Lancaster are slightly different. Rothesay and Normandy too of course.
You forgot Edinburgh - and aren't Gloucester and Kent hereditary?

And then there was Windsor . . .

This scene should have been painted by one of the great masters...

Or into a 2000 piece jigsaw puzzle.

I wonder if a jigsaw company makes jigsaws puzzles to order.

To answer my own question, there are several and the prices are amazingly affordable. Now how can I get that one?

You'll still need a missing piece.

A quick “Goggle” search provides details of many companies happy to do a personal jigsaw puzzle.

I’m keeping my pennies for a good meal & booze out with friends in a ‘normal’ environment.

The prospect of passing food and drink around/above/below/through a face mask or visor is the sort of scene which is likely to send any visiting Aliens, who are looking at Earth for settlement, back to their spaceship for immediate escape... Thread drift alert!!!a

An S10 respirator has a drinking tube.

Many years ago, much to our amusement, an ATCer at Cottesmore had his jaw wired shut. I can remember why but all his food was provided in liquid form, breakfast bacon, eggs and beans whizzed up, lunch meat, two veg, potatoes etc etc. He said it all tasted the same - disgusting. What he hated was not being able to clean his teeth.

Imagine down the pub, array of bottles, steak and kidney pud with all trimmings, bottle of red wine, bottle of water, bottle of bread and butter pud and custard. Make sure you don't mix them up.

The scene has an almost magical tenebrity about it, rather like the principal character himself.

Apropos post # 68

I recall a story about a member of the Haristocracy falling ill and having to be fed liquid refreshment via his rectum. A visitor to the castle asked the butler how the patient was progressing ? Oh ! very well Sir, was the reply, you should see how his Lordships rectum snaps up a piece of hot buttered toast !

( hat, coat, goodbye )
