I don't think that anyone is suggesting disbanding the BBC, the current disquiet is due to the complete left wing bias that the BBC displays, they are expected to produce broadcasting material that will be of benefit to all across the UK and they are not.
They actively recruit and employ a certain type of person and positively discriminate against other applicants, they produce programmes aimed at a particular section of society and their employees do not practice an unbiased attitude to their work.
But they will have to change their ways or Mr Cummins will change them for them, and a good job too.

I listened with interest as the news of the Birmingham stabbing broke.
Knowing Brum a bit, my first thought was why no mention of the suspects race? After all, the cops were still looking for the guy, and if he was whitey, that'd save the cops the bother of hassling the many non-white folk to be found in this fairly multicultural dump....I mean city!

Imagine my surprise when reading he was a black guy. Can the BBC not bring itself to state even the most basic facts?

Given that there were multiple witnesses, don't you think someone mentioned in the obvious fact?

I mentioned elsewhere, a Spanish description, the perp was of North African appearance. Of course that could cover a pale skinned Arab, a medium brown Algerian or more likely meant to describe one of much darker hue.
