I don't think it would have been a big job.

That would be the little dosimeters we carried clipped to our denims. Mine use to glow in the dark.Pontius Navigator wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 7:48 amGround crew carried little radiation monitor tags; aircrew were not issued with them.

Alison, that's the one. I don't know when they were introduced or when they were withdrawn. It was probably at the height of atmospheric testing and stopped once the contamination levels had dropped. I have no idea how much contamination we collected flying well above the Trop.

We didn't have them at Marham, even after 49 Sqdn arrived!Pontius Navigator wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2020 8:01 amAlison, that's the one. I don't know when they were introduced or when they were withdrawn. You wouldn't get much inside your aluminum toob, shirley. Remember when they modified the wash pan so all the water could be collected and taken away. I believe it was all taken off to the officers mess to be used for their ablutions. The rest of us had to make do with what we found in puddles.Pontius Navigator wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2020 8:01 amI have no idea how much contamination we collected flying well above the Trop.

Saved a fortune on shower gel. Where do you think they got the name RADOX?
