Wot's for Tea, Ma?
Re: Wot's for Tea, Ma?
Baked potato with melted cheese, coleslaw and a 500g T-Bone. seared on a VERY hot BBQ plate!
Re: Wot's for Tea, Ma?
Yeah?....Just some Roo from the supermarket?, cooked the same way??
Re: Wot's for Tea, Ma?
Is it against the law to take from the wild?
Re: Wot's for Tea, Ma?
Take what from the wild?
Re: Wot's for Tea, Ma?
Kangaroos.
Re: Wot's for Tea, Ma?
I saw many many dead 'Roos on the side of the road on the recent road trip....you wouldn't eat 'Road kill'
I saw a Ute in the town of Gympie at 03:00 with a bull bar affixed to the front with "Here Skippy" painted on it, obviously not a fan of 'Roos...
Kangaroos were in plague proportions....not sure if they still are....I think the guy with the ute thinks so...
Then, how do you catch and kill, gut & skin a Roo?....I've no idea....
I have eaten Kangaroo from he Supermarket, it is a very very lean meat, and needs be cooked quickly, still something odd about eating an animal on your coat of Arms...
I really should do it again, it is a very healthy meat,...but sourcing it your self, maybe if you owned the property....not really an option for the likes of us...

Having read about your surplus of camels, perhaps a future delicacy.
When all else fails, read the instructions.

Placed a small 1kg Brisket in the covered BBQ about 4 hours ago, smoked with Hickory chips. To be served on super soft rolls with BBQ sauce, sweet corn on the cob & Coleslaw.
It's occurred to me I am cooking a lot of 'USA' style stuff this week.

Not for 'Tea' as such, but baking these right now, something of a 'Queensland Thing', but you don't often see them around much anymore....what a hell of a mess they were to do!!, cleaned up and cooling beneath the fan ow as they bake away

Re: Wot's for Tea, Ma?
Sunday was a sort of lamb Boulanger with spuds, onions and chicken stock in a roasting tray and a big chunk of shoulder lamb on the bone, studded with garlic and laid on top. 2.5hrs at 130C fan, 1 hour at 110C. Very tasty. As a result, I have leftover lamb, so it's time for stovies!
