Well the ADF/NDB combo would still be in use, and they wouldn't be removing all the VOR's because GPS wouldn't exist.

A British radio engineer named H J Round who working for Marconi undertook some experiments using crystal detectors. At the time radio detectors were one of the major limiting factors within the early wireless of radio sets. He was a very talented engineer and helped advance the science of radio in many ways.
He has a memorial here.. (well worth a visit)...
