What can possibly go wrong?
Female PM of NZ, terrorism, gun control, Muslims, a film with a Skippy leading lady and a Septic film company.

Re: What can possibly go wrong?
John, what do you mean by "Skippy" and "Septic", exactly?
Re: What can possibly go wrong?
We usually refer to our PM as Skippy. Not sure who this is.
Because they stand on the wall and say "nothing's gonna hurt you tonight, not on my watch".

Re: What can possibly go wrong?
Here is a very good example of one of the problems that is going wrong in our country, import migrants from one or the other of these groups but not from both.
They bring their old hate of each others religion? to our country and the strife that it causes is shared with our population. We who already have enough problems of our own.

"The walkout happened today during a panel addressing the causes of terrorism after a comment from NZ Jewish Council spokesperson Juliet Moses about the Israel-Palestine conflict sparked a commotion."
" Hezbollah and Hamas, their military wings are proscribed terror organisations in New Zealand but we saw a rally in support of Hezbollah on Queen St in 2018."

Re: What can possibly go wrong?
And a follow up article to the above, but the sentiments aired by some, while very good, will not have the desired effect I would think.

"This is called the securitisation of Islam, where you use a certain bogie and associate Muslims with terrorism... Don't resurrect these issues and people who bring baggage from overseas and dump it on New Zealand, I actually feel very sad for them and this is what has happened. But let's focus on the hui and that's the most important thing."

Re: What can possibly go wrong?
Do these different groups tend to live in defined areas displacing the original residents? Quite natural really, happens in UK where whole towns become almost foreign. Spanish urbanisations might be similar with the majority being occupied by Europeans other than Spanish.
Re: What can possibly go wrong?
In New Zealand neighborhoods are more defined by income level rather than race but the end result is the same as race is a significant factor in determining income.Pontius Navigator wrote: ↑Wed Jun 16, 2021 7:31 amDo these different groups tend to live in defined areas displacing the original residents?

Re: What can possibly go wrong?
John, as on race to the bottom. A typical 3 bed house changes to 6 or more occupants. Elderly couple either die or move out and larger family move in, rinse and repeat until the original occupants have all gone.
Re: What can possibly go wrong?
This is obvious as people move out or die others take their place. Are you saying these new people are a different race?Pontius Navigator wrote: ↑Wed Jun 16, 2021 10:16 am... rinse and repeat until the original occupants have all gone.

Re: What can possibly go wrong?
Yes, as property becomes available they will be taken over by people of the same race. Similar to what can happen with ex-pats moving into areas that cater for their needs.
We were tsjen to a caff run by some Brits to get food for our flight home - "British white bread, sliced hsm'. In another place you could get bacon sarnies. A real taste of home

Re: What can possibly go wrong?
Not the whole story. The people who buy the houses in the area are those with an income similar to the other home owners on the street. They may be the same race or they may not.Pontius Navigator wrote: ↑Wed Jun 16, 2021 9:07 pmYes, as property becomes available they will be taken over by people of the same race.

Re: What can possibly go wrong?
What will no doubt develop into a problem, as has happened in various places in other countries, it is not the race of the people involved solely, but their religious affiliation. They tend to congregate around their places of worship. And as has been demonstrated a number of times, it is not the first generation of immigrants that create problems for the host nation, but the second, who for some reason feel robbed, or hard done by when the host nations primary religion is not theirs.

Yes, that is a big problem in Palestine.prospector wrote: ↑Sun Jun 20, 2021 2:42 amWhat will no doubt develop into a problem, as has happened in various places in other countries, it is not the race of the people involved solely, but their religious affiliation.
