Oh the irony, on the day before so called fecking "Freedom Day". What a bunch of tossers...

Convinced

You must have somewhere
To go
Your destination remains
Elusive."

Oh for the days of steam radio and the late editions of the papers. Could have given them at least a day before the 'caught' of public opinion.

We had our family BBQ Friday in full compliance with the rules. Dau 2 family staying with us, dau 1 family joined us outside. SiL 1 and Gson went to Silverstone yesterday. Glad they got the sequence correct.

Tomorrow I have declined an indoor lunch with Rotary and ditto Thursday for afternoon tea in a tent. I know our local infection numbers have indeed plateaued, but now more than ever I think is the time to sit back and watch.

It's been timed by Downing Street watchers as being 157 minutes from policy decision to officially declared U-turn. Surely a new record for even the snakiest of governments.

It would be nice to think that the reason for the change of heart was that the culprits thought that the decent thing to do would be abide by the rules and recommendations made by their own government. But, no.

Instead, it's because "opposition figures" had pointed out that there appear to be rules for us and different rules for those who rule us.

It is entirely predictable that the way this shower of shite we have for a government, two governments actually, are carrying on: we will see a rise in the number of infections and that thousands will be condemned to suffer the nastiness of long Covid.

Like the blind prostitute, you have to hand it to this bunch of shysters

"“I really do urge everybody to stick with the programme and take the appropriate course of action when you’re asked to do so by NHS Test and Trace,” the prime minister, who will be isolating at Chequers, said."

#4818 The problem is in my wife's family not just the parents watch children's sporting events but also the grandparents. Everyone's been vaccinated. Everyone wears masks. Everyone will stand 2m apart. Yet some f*cking little Hitler of an organiser lays down a law which isn't even a law prohibiting more that one relative per child standing in the open air, in a sports field, to watch an event. I'm sorry, UP. It makes me reach for my sidearm. Summary execution called for.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has now turned off the NHS Covid Test and Trace app.

I'm sure that there will be many thousands, probably hundreds of thousands of people who, should they develop mild symptoms of Cv19 not needing hospital treatment, will not report to the authorities.

The reported number of cases will therefore go down by an uncountable and inestimable amount. This will, of course, prolong the epidemic and the pandemic. That will, in turn, greatly increase the probability of yet another mutant variant.

UP, I think we have reached the point where it should not be called a pandemic or epidemic; endemic would seem more appropriate, sadly.

How was your party last night? :YMPARTY:
I'm sure most of you were out at the stroke of midnight reveling with the masses. :ymdevil:
Saw photos from one of the papers. The photographer was definitely a heterosexual male. :))

We take a lateral flow test regularly. I think under most circumstances I would tell the people I have had contact, rather than trust the App.

It would be mainly friends and family
I have had no close contact within the meaning since Covid began.

The only person with whom I come into weekly contact - and her family - have all had it. Anyone else telling me they test positive will be offered sympathy and a restorative G&T on our terrace.

I have to sign in and out at my gym so they can inform me if some poor wretch is stupid enough to go for a test and is found positive. What a load of old rubbish. It's so large and people use specific machines that the chances of person A who goes to Spinning Class has no chance of infecting me, person B, on the mezzanine floor on a Walker. Especially if person A doesn't use my changing room. There was a tall thin blond on the machine next to mine today, she looked like two boarconstrictors glued end to end, never a smile for me, if she tests + I don't give a monkey's toss and I won't know cos I gave an old telephone number. Anyway my sweat* resembles the blood of the creature from "Alien", kills every known tactile virus, bacteria and creepie-crawlies.

*You should try one of Mme OFSOs curries.

I'm surprised anyone bothers with the App. A little thought shows that by date n, everyone in the UK with the App will have pinged everyone else, will continue ad. inf., and everyone will be in permanent lockdown. Oh wait, what did that fool Johnson say? Something about a Freedom Day and no more lockdowns. So it's "Isolation".
