I would have hoped for a more relevant and constructive response from you to this appalling display of (lack of) intelligence and articulateness from the "leader of the Fee World" but it is typical of your postings, following immediately after mine, going back some considerable time G G!
Why do I get that appalling stench of a red herring yet again...?
C'mon, you can do better than that so drag yourself away from the kindergarten and post something relevant to the thread topic.

Have you no sense of priorities? A USA basketball loss is terribly important!
Good to have you back worrying for the rest of us bm. I haven't see that enraged red faced emoticon for a while...

Re: Chaos in USA
Meanwhile in a West Coast city, fact logic and reasoning seem to have taken a holiday elsewhere;
"Story on New York Post site that a group of San Francisco bars are to require people to be vaccinated or have a negative test. The reason? It’s “due to a recent uptick in cases “among our staff members, especially those who are fully vaccinated.””
An uptick in cases among their staff…especially those who are fully vaccinated? Perhaps the bar owners have been drinking too much of what they sell to be able to think properly but if their fully vaccinated bar staff can catch it, presumably fully vaccinated customers can also catch it, come into the bar, and breathe over their fully vaccinated bar staff…"

Simples, innit??

Re: Chaos in USA
Not necessarily, it is acknowledged that the vaccine is not 100% effective, but that vaccinated people appear to have much milder symptoms than the unvaccinated. Covid wards in hospitals are showing about 97% of their patients who were not vaccinated, and deaths due to Covid appear to be from this group too. Symptoms in those who are vaccinated tend to be mild or non-existent.
It would be interesting to know what the transmission rate is from someone who is vaccinated to someone who is/isn't, and similarly from someone who is not vaccinated to the is/isn't cases too.

Re: Chaos in USA
The latest Massachusetts survey reported by the CDC shows that 74% of people contracting COVID were vaccinated.
It is rapidly reaching the stage where the value of the vaccination is in reducing symptoms rather that reducing infections only no one is saying this yet.

Re: Chaos in USA
I think that is the message in the UK. Less hospitalisations, less deaths. As the relative number vaccinated increases so the relative number infected will increase. The only hope as I see it is to try and reduce infection with the measures in place. These have been dramatically effective in reducing the spread of flu.It is rapidly reaching the stage where the value of the vaccination is in reducing symptoms rather that reducing infections only no one is saying this yet.
Re: Chaos in USA
Anything that improves the odds is welcome. Figures suggest that for the unvaccinated in the US, it's a 1 in 55 chance of death if you catch it. For vaccinated people it's vastly less likely, although if the "wrong" variant comes along then those protections could vanish.

A Louisiana groom was arrested on his wedding night after he shot two people during an argument about infidelity, police and local media said.
The shooting happened over the weekend while the groom, Devin Jose Jones, and his new wife were stuck in traffic on the Bonnet Carre Spillway in LaPlace, about 30 miles from New Orleans, according to NBC affiliate WDSU.
St. John Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre told the news station that Jones accused his wife and a male friend who was in the car with them of having an affair. Jones chased the man out of the car and began firing shots at him, the sheriff said. The man was struck in the leg by a bullet.
Another bullet went through the rear window of a car and struck a person in the hand, the sheriff told the station. Both victims were taken to the hospital and are expected to survive.
During the shooting, the bride got out of the car and ran to paramedics who were on the scene for an unrelated car crash. The sheriff said the woman told the paramedics she was scared of her husband and was allowed to wait inside the ambulance.
Jones started beating on the ambulance doors but was arrested by deputies, the station reported.
The sheriff's office did not immediately return a request for comment on Tuesday. An online arrest report shows that Jones, 30, was arrested Sunday on charges of aggravated criminal damage to property, illegal use of weapons, aggravated battery and second-degree attempted murder.
Jones was still in his tuxedo when he was taken into custody, according to WDSU. It's not clear if he has obtained an attorney.

Passengers duct tape man to seat after in-air fight on Frontier Airlines plane
Maxwell Berry was arrested at an airport in Miami after he allegedly groped two flight attendants and then got into a physical altercation with a third.
Passengers on a Frontier Airlines flight from Philadelphia to Miami had to duct tape a man to his seat after he allegedly groped two flight attendants and got into a physical altercation with another.
The man, Maxwell Berry, 22, was arrested Sunday at Miami International Airport and charged with three counts of battery, according to an arrest report.
Miami-Dade County police said the incident happened on a late night Saturday flight and involved an intoxicated passenger.
The report states that Berry had consumed two alcoholic drinks and after finishing them, brushed his cup against a flight attendant's buttocks. The flight attendant told him "don't touch me," according to the arrest report.
Berry ordered a third alcoholic beverage but spilled it on his shirt. He went to the bathroom and when he came out, was shirtless. The flight attendant told Berry he needed to be clothed and helped him get an extra shirt out of his carry-on bag.
According to the report, Berry proceeded to walk around the plane for 15 minutes before groping a second flight attendant's breasts. She told him to sit down and to not touch her, it says. Authorities wrote that Berry then approached both the first and second flight attendants, put his arms around them and groped their chests.
They asked a third flight attendant to watch Berry. The report states that the third attendant asked Berry to remain seated and Berry punched the attendant in the face. After a fight broke out, passengers intervened by using duct tape to "tape him down to the seat and tie him with a seatbelt extender for the remaining flight," the report states.
A spokesperson for Frontier Airlines said Berry, of Norwalk, Ohio, was arrested after the plane landed at the airport. It's not clear if Berry has obtained an attorney and he could not be reached at phone numbers listed for him.
The flight attendants involved in the incident were placed on paid leave, a standard procedure, pending an investigation.
"Frontier Airlines maintains the utmost value, respect, concern and support for all of our flight attendants, including those who were assaulted on this flight," the spokesperson said. "We are supporting the needs of these team members and are working with law enforcement to fully support the prosecution of the passenger involved."

The solution to that one is to decree that if he wants to be in a women's prison then he has to have gender reassignment surgery, and due to the nature of his offence, it gets done without anaesthetic.prospector wrote: ↑Wed Aug 04, 2021 10:36 pmThe stupidity of some people is beyond belief!!

It's quite possible that if he tries anything in jail, the other inmates might do it for him.
