Lord Nelson should be on message for invalids, blind, deaf, armless, gay, bi and dead, apart from an unfortunate link to fuzzy wozzies

'Cook' Slut Shamed https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2021/0 ... n-coarser/
Nigella Lawson renames ‘slut’ dessert saying word has taken on ‘coarser’ meaning
When challenged on the rebrand, the celebrity cook said she was not happy about the word’s ‘cruel connotation’

Nigella Lawson has renamed a dessert in her recipe book after growing concerned the word “slut” had taken on a “coarser” meaning.
The celebrity cook, 61, made the revelation on social media after posting a “recipe of the day” for a home-made jelly she now calls Ruby Red Raspberries in Chardonnay Jelly.
Long-time followers of her dessert books quickly spotted that she used to give the dish a different name – Slut Red Raspberries in Chardonnay Jelly.
Challenged on the rebrand of the dessert, which first appeared in Lawson’s cookbooks in 2002, she wrote on Twitter: “I feel that the word has taken on a coarser, more cruel connotation, and I’m not happy with that.”
Charles Saatchi was right.
'Slut' - a word in use since before 1400 and its meaning known to all native English speakers, but now probably banned due to wokery. It always did have a 'coarse' meaning.

He treated his wife abominably and deserved a sound thrashing for that alone, but in the end Fanny won out.Pontius Navigator wrote: ↑Tue Aug 24, 2021 7:12 amLord Nelson should be on message for invalids, blind, deaf, armless, gay, bi and dead, apart from an unfortunate link to fuzzy wozzies

I would quite happily cancel lycra.

Re: Wokeness or wokery
Of course the name Fanny is no longer much in use despite Nelson's doughty wife who was so badly used by him! I wonder why? Is it wokery or good taste that has cast this fine female name into the shadows of our consciousness I wonder?TheGreenGoblin wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 12:59 amHe treated his wife abominably and deserved a sound thrashing for that alone, but in the end Fanny won out.Pontius Navigator wrote: ↑Tue Aug 24, 2021 7:12 amLord Nelson should be on message for invalids, blind, deaf, armless, gay, bi and dead, apart from an unfortunate link to fuzzy wozzies

Only in America! The poor chap has suffered terribly since the photo showing his baby weener was used on an album cover. Now there's a possibility of cashing in. Half the people in the world have one Spencer - just get over it!
Nirvana's famous naked baby SUES band for child pornography: Man - now aged 30 - who appeared on iconic cover of 1991 Nevermind album claims $2.5m damages for being 'exploited as a minor'
Spencer Elden, 30, was the baby seen on Nevermind album cover in 1991
Elden said his parents never gave their release for the photos and were not paid
Image was snapped in 1990 in Pasadena when Elder was four-months-old
Cover shows a naked baby swimming underwater toward a dollar bill on a string
Elden is asking for at least $150K from each of 17 defendants named in the suit
The album sold more than 30 million for Geffen Records
Elden, from Los Angeles, said that his 'identity and legal name are forever tied to the commercial sexual exploitation he experienced as a minor which has been distributed and sold worldwide from the time he was a baby to the present day.'
He alleged that band members, record companies and creative personnel had 'trafficked' his image for profit, according to court documents reviewed by CBSLA.
In law, non-sexualized naked pictures of infants are not considered to be child pornography.

So do the right thing and give him the dollar.Cover shows a naked baby swimming underwater toward a dollar bill on a string
Re: Wokeness or wokery
I guess there'd be no case if the album had flopped.A dollar should cover it.

I'm thinking there are only two good things about XR but I've forgotten what they are. Otherwise they are complete waste of space and should have been hosed down in the street along with the tons of rubbish they left behind. Sanctimonious tw*ts. Go and demonstrate in Beijing! https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... risis.html
Topless Extinction Rebellion protester is a politics student, 31, from Brighton who says she brings a 'nice energy' to demonstration shutting down Oxford Circus
Laura Amherst drew startled looks wearing just two XR stickers on her nipples
Ms Amherst is study politics at university and says she is bringing attention to XR
She said that her dancing topless 'brought a nice energy to the protest'
A politics student who danced topless at an Extinction Rebellion protest wearing just knickers and nipples covers has declared she did it to 'draw attention to the climate crisis'.
Laura Amherst, 31 drew startled looks and wild applause from passers-by and fellow protestors as she danced topless with just two Extinction Rebellion stickers covering her naked breasts in the centre of Oxford Circus on Wednesday.
Ms Amherst, who is studying politics at the Open University told MailOnline: 'I did it to draw attention to the climate crisis facing the planet.
'Dancing topless brought a nice energy to the protest and was also a very body positive thing to do. A lot of people congratulated me for doing this, especially women. I'm not getting paid for this or doing it to draw attention to myself but just to save the planet.'
Ms Amherst, who lives in Brighton, revealed that she is a committed member of XR along with her boyfriend.
That's good then - shy woman shows real commitment to the cause eh? No salacious reporting in the DM either - it's all in the public interest. Now where was I...two things...

PS, Ms Amherst above would, I believe, have piqued Slasher's interest.
