Re: Rant of the Day v2.
Google has the worst-ever weather app. Currently says light rain showers for my location. Reality is scattered clouds, bright sunshine, and 29°c. Not a thundercloud in sight.
Re: Rant of the Day v2.
That's because the rain people paid for search engine optimisation to bump up their results.

Buggah, the key for the letter between 'l' and 'n' has stopped working on the keyboard.

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
This is what I get when I try that.... ¡ºª
It's an Apple ¡ºªagic keyboard that ain't working its **kin ¡ºªagic. Going to Lincoln to¡ºªorrow to pick up a new one - the keyboard is out of production and, according to the ¡ºªan at the Apple shop, can't be repaired although there are "refurbished" keyboards available on the net. That's a risky option, at least a new keyboard will be covered by Apple's warranty.

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
Never fear, there is a virtual keyboard already installed.
Pull down the APPLE symbol far left top bar
Select System Preferences
Select "keyboard" from the icons displayed
click the box "Show Keyboard, Emoji & Symbol Viewers in menu bar"
close that window
The top menu bar now has a symbol featuring the special apple command key - click that and select "Show Keyboard Viewer"
Click away - Shift/Shift lock is active if needed

A throttle powered bicycle has been seized after it was seen travelling at 30mph uphill in Newquay without the rider pedalling.
The rules surrounding throttle powered bicycles state that they can only be used without pedalling up to 4 mph.
However, so long as the pedals are moving round you can use the throttle to take you up to a maximum speed of 15.5 mph.

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
Really? I had a racing bike converted to electric. 15 mph was easily achievable. With pedal assist 20 was easy. Pre conversion 20 was routine too.
Re: Rant of the Day v2.
I did once exceed a 40mph speed limit on a bike. Achieved with me and gravity, down the A419 into the Stroud Valley from the East. Just had to remember where the right-angle bend for the bridge over the railway line was because I didn't want to end up in the lorry escape lane gravel trap.Pontius Navigator wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 12:22 pmReally? Re: Rant of the Day v2.
Ilondel, that brings to mind a near fatal simultaneous departure of my friend and I. We were about to descend the B5345 and decided to free wheel, no pedals, no brakes.
It was exhilarating. He was ahead of me, we were accelerating, and the descent steepened. We feared that braking at that speed and slope might topple us over the handlebars.
At the same time the road had a slight tightening to the right.
The inevitable result was our departing the road on a tangent but with the wheels checked by the kerb.
The resultant grave rash, the only injury, had bits of gravel surfacing in different parts of the body for some weeks. The last emerged some 50 years later as a result of chemo!
Looking back it was about 1,200 yards and 120 feet descent. No idea what speed we were doing but at least 30 mph.

Ere' you are, 50cc of throbbing French POWER, with pedal assist for the steep hills.

Scroll wheel on cheap wireless mouse has stripped out.
This seems to be a weakness with them as this about the fourth over many years.
I will be looking for yet another on the Big River.

I use keyboard and mouse combo labelled 'Genius'.
They cost R399/£20.12/$27.95 and last a while.

8000 communications officers and they can’t provide video clips or use social media, wtfHe proposes cutting the number of communications officers in Whitehall from 8,000 to 2,000, but also suggests improving the training available.
Specifically he says staff need to be trained so they can produce video clips, use social media and design graphics.
When all else fails, read the instructions.

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
Petcute dog lead failed AGAIN clearly a failure of hope over experience. First failed after a year. Second failed after a year. One star reviews all reflect ratchet failure around the one year point.
This failure worse than the last. Halfway point on the walk; after a rest admiring the view, Scottie sitting on the bench doing the same, lead retracted and would not extend.
Letting her off in a squirrel/rabbit rich environment was not an option
