"I well remember a clearance at Duxford: "Clear number two to Spitfire xxx." It was quite normal. That was in the 90's."
Many moons ago now, I was off for a tootle up to the north from EMA.
Clearance for departure was "behind the departing Hunter" (G-HUNT in red)
and while on base leg to land was told that I was number two to the Lancaster
on finals. Quite a memorable day.
Mr Sun is having a last bash at warming us all up as Summer comes to an end here.
CAVOK forecast for the entire day and not a cloud in the sky.
Off to the City Hospital's drive-through stick it down yer throat and up yer nose PCR
testing station later in preparation for the op on Wednesday (if it happens).

Copied GG thanks. Probably to make sure none of his pilots bent his baby. Presume it is a two pilot operation in which case he would have to fly with a F/O under 60.TheGreenGoblin wrote: ↑Mon Sep 20, 2021 6:10 amHe wasn't the pilot flying yesterday but I believe he was in attendance Ex Ascot.
Been cruising, not a hippo in sight. A tricky crosswind especially for docking but the crew did well, no go around which is a pain with all the lilies.
4M, presume you have more renovation to do this is just the end of this phase?

No Hippos in Brisbane River today....but apparently a body washed ashore....no hippos in the Nerang River when I crossed it....but I know there would have been some cranky Bull Sharks in there...
I was unexpected lead at the clinic today....and will be sole operator of the Gilston clinic tomorrow....they are either stupid or have some faith in me!

Hola,
I am showing 27c, bit hazy and 63% humidity.
Guess is 28c.
The remainder of the week looks interesting ;
SM went to a solicitor in Nerja about a claim against the horsepitil. And got a tale.
She put a notice in the local community paper for a translator with some legal experience and lo, an English speaking gestoria.
Her advice is contary to the previous and makes more sense.
We have sent a scan of the sequence of events for her perusal and opinion.
Lil' Bro and SIL now back in Warwickshire.
Dunno where that second forecast is coming from

Heavy t storms all around here. Just watched FR9211 carrying our friends from GRN to Karlsruhe going a long way south after departure before swinging east over Begur and out to sea. From my terrace at 600' asl I can see what the gentleman flying the 738 was avoiding. Rumbles and bangs all around but now dry here. The cat is displeased.
I passed the first dead boar of the 21/22 winter season on the roadside at Vilanova de la Muga this morning. A sign that the chimney should be swept and a stack of logs procured and the warm duvets put on the bed.

There's a big demand for bikes of any sort and condition at the moment, I believe. Possibly Romanians or Albanians. They are responsible for a lot of the petty thieving in the area where I live. In my days of working in the former Soviet Union, I was told that they used to spray whitewash over the coal in the coal wagons, as a deterrent to theft. I'd have thought coal was cheap and plentiful in those days, but I suppose there are always those who will take without paying.

Wodrick, over two years since ours was swept as we were almost 12 months away. However, if one has a house fire in the cold season one of the first questions the insurance asks is when the chimney was last swept. Was told this by the fire department when we had a chimney fire in 2019. A nuisance but not to be overlooked.

OFSO, indeed, once we installed a log burner we thought it worthwhile getting the chimney swept. We were surprised to get a very comprehensive report that would indeed have been useful for the insurers.

When all else fails, read the instructions.

You missed the bit earlier when Dan asked Carol "How are your marrows" and instantly realised that was not a good move........

A few years ago a neighbour left an old bike at the end of his drive hoping someone would take it. Still there a few days later. He then put a 'For Sale £25' sign on it. Gone within hours!

Morning all. Cool but dry here. Canary Island volcano on news. Five thousand evacuated, hundreds of houses destroyed. Coast road will soon be lost. Volcano has nine openings now. So far 20,000 tones SO2 ejected into atmosphere. Expect Extinction Rebellion to start demonstrations soon.

Well it could certainly make it into a holiday with a difference if the whole lot goes up in Palma.
A cool start to the day but the forecast is promising.

With nine outlets to dissipate the energy the Big One is likely to be avoided. A 25m tall tsunami hitting the Eastern seaboard of North America would make a right old mess.
Who would they bomb in revenge? Spain?
