Re: Handsfree's 'It's Friday Thread'
Great idea. This weekend I shall be mostly tidying the place up in preparation for a visit from an old friend towards the end of the month - and that's a lot of tidying! Her visit is triggered by a desire to attend this event

Excellent idea!
As for what I'll be doing; A distinct possiblity of hauling a few Gliders into the air with the Club's Pawnee.
Has a 250hp engine in place of the old 235hp.

Invited out for dinner Sunday night by granddaughter, so?
She is at school and 13 her brother will be tagging along. She suggests Pizza Express which is fair enough as she did the invite.
Guess who's paying

Good idea Admin. Same as most weekends I guess. Safari camp up river for a beer or two 11.00 Saturday, same Sunday. May take the boat out but weather doesn't look like cruising weather. The rest of the time on the verandah at home shouting at boats with jungle bunny noise coming from them.

Hopefully getting up to Liverpool on Sunday for a match and a few beers, a meal with mates, could be a long night as we’ve got two Christmas and New Year’s to catch up.
Mind you,how will we know when the weekend has started

I will still be announcing, during term times, that Thursday is Art For Art's Sake Day.

Re: Handsfree's 'It's Friday Thread'
Saturday morning is golf with a likeminded bunch of masochists, known as the Earlybirds, who play at the crack of dawn. Can be very pleasant on a summer morning, but less so at this time of year.
I did say we were masochists!

Yeah but the crack of dawn is considerably later this time of year so you do get to sleep in.

Been there done that - often. One course, played regularly with early morning mist, once last member of the group had hit their second shot, would yell "Cooee" to let next group know they could hit off. Twas good times.

Off to the gym early, so it must be Friday. Five minutes extra punishment in memoriam HF...

Re: Handsfree's 'It's Friday Thread'
At this stage, much the same as usual, I expect:
Saturday shopping for food and the newspaper, two loads of washing and tumble drying, one load of dish washing; catering for, and tidying up after, breakfast, lunch and tea and doing the crosswords (cryptic and general knowledge) in the newspaper.
Sunday, catering as above, finishing off the crossword (cryptic) and having a good sleep after lunch. Also much TV watching/ignoring on both days (mainly ignoring as it's mostly repeats that SM has forgotten that she ever watched last time round).
Could be brightened up for a couple of hours on one day if son brings our grandson over, possibly with his partner, possibly without so that partner can have a couple of hours peace and quiet and catch upon her sleep.

Crossing the river on the big bridge to Hull so Mrs 1DC can take her watch in for a service, maybe buy herself a winter coat. I will then be given the opportunity to buy number one daughter lunch somewhere!
At least it is a sunny Friday on the Humber.

And a beautiful misty dawn, hard frozen ground, and fresh scent for the Scottie.

Lovely day had here....4 hours in the 'city' clinic doing only international travellers..one to Moscow...2 to Columbia..one to Nepal..3 to Singas....and one too dumb to know the requirements of travelling to NYC....thats not my problem....
Thereafter a day spent enjoyably pottering about the house....made a batch of chilled Zuccini (Courgette) & Basil soup for a guest tomorrow....
