Someone posted a picture of $6.95 for regular, $7.55 for super which was apparently in LA. Someone else claims it was by LAX, so clearly trying to corner the rental car return market. It's getting to the point where it's worth selecting the fuel option so you can take it back empty, especially if you're renting the car for a few days, because chances are the price will have gone up enough that it's the cheaper thing to do.

A quick check on-line suggests our cheapest is still around $4.69. I can see one for $6.39 but that's in Menlo Park where people live in really expensive houses.

The truckers in Washington protesting the US Covid response are threatening the entire world if you are to believe the US Vice President Kamala Harris!

---:“Pollution from heavy-duty trucks and buses has made the air poisonous to breathe and this pollution is also, of course, accelerating the climate crises,” Harris said during a speech near the White House on Monday. “Threatening the future not just of our communities, but of the entire world.”

She also shared her dream to get rid of all diesel powered trucks and buses and replace them with electric powered vehicles.

Imagine a future: The freight trucks that deliver bread and milk to our grocery store shelves and the buses that take children to school and parents to work…. Imagine that they produced zero emissions,” she said.:---

Well, good luck with that, sweety!

Advice to travellers: Keep away from bus stations! The air near them is poisonous to breathe!

So far I've managed not to pay more than $4.99

Which is up from how much a year ago?

And now just in Biden is going to be announcing that the US will stop buying energy from Russia and it is also expected that the UK will do the same.

It is not only gas prices that are a concern for the public but also heating fuel which has risen as much as gas has.

Having now listened to his speech it seems it was not so much about banning Russia oil but rather a speech about telling the US public that his administration did not cause the fuel price rises.

As always he was not prepared to take any questions after speaking.

Biden however ignores his own EIA numbers which show that in 2019 the US was producing 12,289 million barrels of oil a day which then reduced to 11,283 in 2020 and then reduced down to 11,185 million in 2021 which represents a production reduction of just on 9%.

The same EIA data shows that the US uses about 19 million barrels of crude a day of which only a third is used to produce petroleum.

These numbers show that much more oil is used for domestic heating purposes than for autos.

Crude oil is petroleum.

I think you might have intended to say petrol or gasoline.

The vice that Biden's balls are firmly clamped in...
How about if Vlad has a few turns on the clamp? What if he has some dirt on the Bidens (note the plural), and is using it to his advantage?
I am planning to be in Mississauga in September this year to visit a valued client, and sundry intelligent South African emigres. I would be honoured to have dinner with you and your better half. I promise not to bring up the Congo (which is where I went mad)...

Dinner is on me.

Last time I met you, on a similar trip, was a really pleasant experience... :-bd
That sounds wonderful. Thank you. Looking forward to it. I'll shoot you my email via PM.
Because they stand on the wall and say "nothing's gonna hurt you tonight, not on my watch".

The US English spell checker prefers the word petroleum to petrol.Clearly an error but the point is made that 2/3 of the US oil needs are used to heat homes and not to make vehicles run.

Let me ask you a question Plum while I'm on the line, how long do you expect it would take in the US to have a vehicle park that is made up of 10% EVs?

It's worth noting that a lot of Republican politicians, who had been saying he didn't have the guts to stand up to Putin over the gas pipelines, changed their tune to call for an embargo on Russian oil. They've obviously figured they can safely push for it because he will get the blame for the price rises.

How about this one to inspire confidence in the voters.

Which part, exactly? He covers at least a dozen sub-topics and make a lot of very good points.

Things are getting pretty serious when Faux News starts to express the thought that The Empire is overreaching itself or that the oligarchy which owns America is going too far.

I thought that Fox News is considered to be unreliable and biased by most of the Anti-USAers in this forum.I'm surprised to see that you even attached a clip from Fox.

I remember when I first saw Faux News. It was on the telly in a streetside cafe in a posh part of Cairo, to uproarious laughter from the people who were watching it. I went and sat down, ordered a cup of mint tea and enjoyed the mirth and hilarity. It was so absurd as to appear to be a spoof of the idiotic mouthbreathing drongo type American. I thought it was brilliant comedy. I had no idea that it was a news channel which wanted to be taken seriously.

In the clip above, Carlson makes a lot of good points, though he made a fool of himself when he tried to pin the blame for the last 14 years of moneyprinting and the last 70 years of US Imperial warmongering on Biden who has only been on duty for half a dog watch and had been awake for even less time than that.

Let’s hope Sleepy Joe wakes up long enough to be steered into the dock and is able to take the legal oath;

https://www.prosecutenow.com/

Maybe the TV channels will broadcast proceedings to give us all a break from the Warporn which has supplanted Covidporn?

Presumably the many legal firms in the US will pay for advertising in the all too frequent commercial breaks which plague their channels?

"In the clip above, Carlson makes a lot of good points"

Plum -He has made lots of good points quite regularly for quite some time now.

And

"a break from the Warporn which has supplanted Covidporn?"

Woofer-The "Live ,Alert ,Alert 'Alert Breaking News "reporting on the war is rapidly reducing as everyone is beginning to realize that the conflict is turning into a slow moving meat grinder conflict.

This will present a problem for the Biden Administration who once again will be pressed, even by some of the Democrat loving media outlets, regarding rapidly increasing inflation, not doing more to once again become energy independent and negotiating with the Iranians to allow the Russians to supply them with their nuclear needs.

The next focus will be "Greenporn"to try and deflect from the issues.

As are nearly 60% of the population if you look at the latest polls which show his approval ratings are running in cases at less than 40%.

The thing to remember about Carlson in particular is that it has been held in a court of law that no sane person would believe anything he says. That was the defence case against a lawsuit. Always worth bearing in mind when he spouts forth, it's probably a load of bollocks.

Attack the messenger, llondel.

That'll work. Don't listen to what he actually says. Don't think for yourself. Just attack the messenger and ignore the message unthinkingly.
