So a country which has banned all but its own government controlled broadcasting takes a sideswipe at the UK? Duplicitous is one of the politer words that come to mind.FD2 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 27, 2022 4:48 amhttps://variety.com/2022/tv/global/russ ... 235208872/

Well, aren't they?might frighten Senior Russian officers that they were being deliberately targeted.

Re: Millions of us might be **** if we ignore the Russian-Ukraine war
One forum that I am on said a General was run over by a tank on Friday. There was some suggestion that it was deliberate. His life (but probably not his legs) was saved by the fact that the ground was very muddy and his legs were compacted into the ground. He was rushed to hospital in Belarus according to uncorroborated Ukraine intelligence reports.Pontius Navigator wrote: ↑Sun Mar 27, 2022 9:39 amHowever the following item from UKRINFORM is an absolute classic in black propaganda :The original story emerged from Ukraine and has been picked up by Western media including the world renowned BBC. Here UKRINFORM is reporting the BBC as it must be true. The final paragraph is brilliant with an apparently impartial professional assessment that might frighten Senior Russian officers that they were being deliberately targeted. That's according to the BBC, referring to a Western official, Ukrinform reports.
According to Ukraine's Defense Ministry, Russian Lieutenant General Yakov Rezantsev, who reportedly died on Saturday, is highest ranked officer to be killed.
Experts say low morale among Russian troops has forced senior officers closer to the front line.
Russian military doctrine allows for almost no initiative among corporals and sergeants, with junior ranks always waiting for orders from above.
A retired British Army officer said the generals' deaths also suggested a "highly successful sniper campaign which could degrade the Russian command structures."

tango, I believe it was a colonel and the initial report was From a Chechen. I think it was the 24th but can't find it. It was backed up by a photograph of a body on a stretcher.

tango, brings to mind Colonel H of Falklands leading an advance to break the stalemate. No right to be that close to death. They really are in difficulties when they lose 2* and 3* though.

Ukraine Update: Most in U.S. Express Low Confidence in Biden
French President Emmanuel Macron warned against an escalation of “words or actions,” a day after President Joe Biden said Vladimir Putin “cannot remain in power.” Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the U.S. doesn’t have a strategy of regime change but is focused on putting “unprecedented” pressure on Moscow while strongly supporting Ukraine.
Biden’s comments capped an emotional address in Warsaw Saturday. He earlier called Russia’s leader “a butcher.” The insults “narrow the window of opportunity for normalizing dialogue, so much needed now, with the current U.S. administration,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in response. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy is scheduled to address a pro-Ukraine rally in Washington D.C. on Sunday.

Biden of course, is correct. Putin is a butcher. Is it possible to "normalise" relations with a gangster, poisoner come war criminal? I think not!Seenenough wrote: ↑Sun Mar 27, 2022 2:54 pmEven from Bloomberg who are all for Biden normally.

Why can't Biden do that? I am sure his predecessor and Putin had a great relationship! 2024 he might get another chance..TheGreenGoblin wrote: ↑Sun Mar 27, 2022 7:27 pmIs it possible to "normalise" relations with a gangster, poisoner come war criminal? I think not!

Ah, but then there we have somebody who wanted to be just like Putin, but who failed in that aspiration as well! A friend in Germany told me earlier today that Dr. Wolfgang Schäuble has started to swift some blame for the present dependency of Germany to the Russian gas.
TGG, I am concerned that so many people refuse to switch on the light - and you never know who can belong in that group. And unfortunately the whole society suffers.

I haven’t worked out yet how to share Tweets on here, but Rachel Johnson’s views on Ukraine are clearly the workings of a diseased mind
