Harlaxton Church, Friday 1st July, 6 for 6.30pm
Jim-my Dad's people come from Harlaxton. His sister, who was 2 when she died, is buried in the church graveyard.
I'll have a wander round and see if I can find a headstone.

Morning all.

Tad cooler at 20c this morning but going up to 28c later some would say. Clear blue sky.

Mrs IB managed to take 10 hours to reach Blackpool yesterday. Although flight was on time arriving at LPL, then the delays begin , the root cause being the time it took to get the bags from the hold and delivered to the pax. Delivered circa 20 bags within 20 minutes, the remainder following aprox an hour later. There followed several missed connections of buses and trains, as a result.

Morning all. Back in warm humid air. Not nice after the mountains.

Yup, another country that's resisted the outside world since the 1800's now has a major disaster on its hands and wants our aid. If the earthquake had devastated Europe the Taliban would be dancing with joy at the death of so many Unbelievers. So stuff 'em. Either they are part of the international community or not. In this case, their choice, not.

Was down to -4°C this morning and very white frost.
Highest temp around 8°C. Now 1.4°C.
Attended a graveside funeral service this afternoon, the ground hard and cold as iron and the sun feeble through thin high cloud.
Today's daylight is several seconds longer than yesterday's.
And with the morn, those angel faces smile...

Morning all,
Pretty much the same as the otherside, the guess is for only 24c, maybe didn't get much over 20 yesterday.

Punto has a hernia at the operation site. Like mum I suppose. In on Tuesday for a restitch.

Morning folks. Hope Punto is OK Wodders. Nice day. Not too cold at dawn should make 26°c later. A very odd thing has happened my inbox has emptied itself. Computer, Roundcube and smartphone. Very difficult situation.

I do not understand the sunrise/sunset times here. One would expect our days to get longer after 21st June but they do not. They stay about the same until August then we gain quite a few minutes every day. Explanation?

Oh this will be fine, just popped a couple of stitches. The tension is waiting to find if the malignant tumour has spread.
As TS will tell you the prognosis for spread from the spleen is not good.

Ex-A - you obviously dozed through all your pilot groundschool (possibly even secondary school?). It is to do with where your little (Sqn Ldr Ret) pink botty is at the moment. :)) It looks as if your equinox is around mid July. https://www.timeanddate.com/sun/botswana/gaborone PN could possibly explain.

It's a good job the Royal Family did not know =))

Today, I 'ave been mostly... installing a door.
20220623_171133.jpg
Took a couple of days to remove the sash window and enlarge the hole in the hundred year old exterior wall (as was). Discovered how differently they made them then. Very fiddly job as the sunroom is lower than the main house and has a 7' ceiling, so I only had a quarter inch leeway to fit the new door. Also had to use a lot of hand tools as I suspected, and there duly proved to be, live wires where they shouldn't be.
My sunroom, which has the entrance door, now leads directly through this new door into the main room. Until now, I've had to walk the length of the sunroom and use a door which went straight into the kitchen. Next job is a complete renovation in the kitchen, but that can wait till Fall when all the visitors have been and gone.

Still have the trim to do, but that can wait.

The door cost nowt, as it's actually the old front door to the house. Like almost every house on PEI, nobody ever uses the front door, and the steps lead onto grass. So, I replaced the front door with a window.

Another warm day, hit 35C/95F today, so not quite as toasty as the 40C from a few days ago.

Kepler decided to get in some exercise in the pool, I was throwing the ball to the far end, she was swimming out to get it and bring it back. She wouldn't get out, and would start swimming in the hope that I'd throw the ball out for her to fetch. Faraday, in her supervisory role, barked instructions at her sister and attempted to grab the ball from her every time she returned to the shallow end. Faraday does not like swimming.

Until a few years ago our monsoon was deemed to have begun when three consecutive days with +55o dewpoint were recorded.
Now it is deemed to begin on June 1st, for whatever reason. :-??
There have ben weak streams of moisture coming up from the south for a few days now but not finding me.
Today is different. Actual liquid H2O falling with attendant thundery noises. :-bd

Morning all. 21c, clear blue and a high of 26c posted by hopelessly incorrect guessers.

Another easy and quiet day is expected. Test match to be watched.

23°c here at 06:30. Thunderstorms predicted. Water - in any form - much needed.

Smoke detector went off in night. Walked around, no smoke...

G'moaning all,

Crystal, 23c guess, equally hopeless 26c. No possibility of precipitation next 10 days.

I give up with politics.

It must be heaven to get 8 days peace. 1 day would do me at present.
