One day I'll settle the question of my ancestry, said to be one-sixteenth Iberian from my grandfather's grandmother.
Meanwhile enjoying exploring the songs and language of Portugal. Finding it easier to follow if I don't try to "make it Spanish".
It's a pretty language.

Time for music...
..this one is for the Goblin!
John - I appreciate you do not normally post music videos, but it has become the 'norm' here for such to live in this thread to avoid an excessive spread of such. Only occasionally where a particular video is intrinsically a part of a particular thread does this vary, hence yours here.
While on the topic of TGG, all please note that, following an enforced short 'time away', he engaged in two highly offensive emails to me, and then decided to 'leave' the site, finally and for good. Following the previous dramatic 'death' of Caco and the birth of TGG in Alison's time, whether or not we will yet again see another rise of the Phoenix from the ashes in the form of another mythical creature is unknown .

To the gaffer... thank you for allowing me back....
Good to be able to post one track here at least. There is a well-meaning message in this one. I love music, the number 6 is green to me, a form of brain damage maybe. I am good at mathematics, and even if I am mad, I don't mean any harm here. Give me a limit and I will abide.
Besides it so nice to be back with good people again. If they "derhuiwer", so will I...
Alway green, in love and in anger...

As a teenager I was a regular at the Club a Gogo in Newcastle where the Animals (morphed from the Alan Price (Rhythm and Blues) Combo) were resident.

As a regular, we were made aware that the Animals were to play a remote village hall in North Northumberland (difficult to believe as that was).
The clientele was made up of local agricultural workers and their molls and squaddies from the nearby army camp.
There were frequent scuffles as the locals protected their molls from the attentions of the squaddies, so interest in the music was sparse.
To be fair, the music went over the heads of the locals (and the squaddies).
As the evening wore on we anticipated the highlight of the evening and stood in a circle in the middle of the dancefloor as they played the first 'public' performance (outside of the a Gogo) of House of the Rising Sun - which, coincidentally, reached no 1 that weekend.
One of those memorable events - and I was there . . .

Sadly, where I came from, we never had anybody as talented as The Animals" to listen to.
Nobody as good as these guys...

I have always liked Ms McKennitt's music... for some night ridden reason that track posted by Karearea triggered this one in my addled noodle.
